Sony never confirms when stuff like that happens. When anonymous or whatever hacked their websites, they just called it "technical issues or something"

But I wouldn't be surprised, were this to happen to Microsoft, if they gave the same kind of public responses

live may be better I agree but overall ps is better. Last I checked there has been around the same amount of consoles sold. Around 50 mil... And I would say since microsoft got a 6 month head start, and if they stopped selling 360's for 6 months ps3 would pass them.

As an owner of both, I'll give my opinion on this derail.

I think Live is miles above PSN, mostly because of the way it does the party system. Live also seems to have fewer connectivity issues. I think PS3 is better in terms of hardware and graphics, most notably because of the Blu Ray player and it doesn't use stupid video compression like Bink. That being said, the one hardware area where I will give the advantage to 360 is being able to play custom soundtracks, regardless of the game.

Bottom line is I think its a wash trying to say one system is clearly better than the other. Even exclusives are pretty much a wash anymore, as they are becoming rarer and rarer.

I think we can all agree that they're both better than the Wii.

yeah but, for comparison perhaps

it's almost like those "Free Hat" protestors on south park.....The guy they claimed to be fighting for didn't organize them, didn't lead them, didn't ask for them to do this, and hasn't been supporting or coordinating them in this matter or the events that have unfolded

+1. Now that you can play movies etc off a usb stick on the 360, they are fairly even. Really, outside of The Show, and the slightly quieter operation than my old arcade 360, the PS3 has no dog in the fight. My wifes new Kinect box more or less kills the PS3 in all categories.

Yeah the kinect is hard to beat. I bought the move for my wife and she ended up plugging the wii back up

yeah saw that (ign reports it a bit better though: Hackers Deny Involvement in PSN Outage - PS3 News at IGN)

though either makes sense, this part struck me a bit odd - especially in tone - to just come out and say this:
A more likely explanation is that Sony is taking advantage of Anonymous' previous ill-will towards the company to distract users from the fact the outage is actually an internal problem with the company's servers

....however, this is also the internet. It wouldn't be surprising for someone to just be playing "follow the leader" after having seen what anonymous had done

have you ever used live? not bashing, just curious. i don't mind paying the money for it. there's a reason there a price associated with it in the first place, and also a reason why the xbox gets everything before the psn does.

the 360 doesn't have the same problems it had in the earlier years. i'm not saying that microsoft isn't without their drawbacks. they rushed the console, yes. and they're beyond greedy just like a bunch of other companies/developers......but they still have a top notch online service and (IMO) the better system.

and i don't understand the graphics argument. in this day in age the graphics for both systems in HD look great. it's not like one looks greats while the other one looks like garbage. it doesn't really matter how powerful the ps3 is when they don't have an expansive library to go with it. it's been 5 or 6 years now and the 360 is still light years ahead of them as far as the selection of games. other than the handful of exclusives the ps3 has had, a bunch of the other good games that can be played on it are xbox 360 titles that have been ported over.

just a difference in opinion obviously, but to me.......there isn't a question of what the better console is now. i actually thought about buying a ps3 at one point, but decided against it because i realized that almost all of the games i was interested in (minus a couple of ps games) i could also play on xbox.

Yeah duckman ive played live,my brother has a 360. Like I told bearcat honestly live is better to me and worth the money. Im just spoiled with the free I guess
