Almost a funny as XBL being down for 2 weeks a few years back. Probably would be just as funny, except PS3ers aren't paying during their outage.

sometimes you have to hit sign in 2 or 3 times, but it will eventually let you in. just wait til you can see your que in the background to start hitting sign in.

xbox live was down for 2 weeks?

i've had a 360 since christmas of '07 and don't ever remember a point where it was down more than 24 hours.......

and there's a bit of a difference between being down for 2 weeks due to maintenance and being hacked whilst putting millions of people's personal information at risk.

no, i read his post.

it's lame to pay for a service when it's down for 2 weeks, i agree. still, downtime with live from my experience has been few and far between. i don't mind giving up the money i pay for it because in my 3 years of being on live, it's been a high quality service.

Xbox Live never went down. It was very slow for about a week, though. This was with the influx of Halo 3/Call of Duty 4 combined with the great rise of holiday systems and xbox live gamertags. The servers were getting drilled.

So no, it never went down, it was just really slow.

If yours never went down as you claim, your one of the lucky ones. Most of the articles I've found claim it was pretty much down/unplayable for the better part of 2

enlighten me.

he mentioned live being down for 2 weeks at one point (which i acknowledged in an earlier post) and also mentioned the live members who were paying for that service in that 2 week period. unless you're talking about harry's (govol's) post being ironic because of live being previously down not really sure what else isn't being covered.

My point was that it takes either a real fanboy or someone related to Bill Gates himself to come in here gloating about PSN being down still but turn a blind eye to the problems MS has had in the past. (While the customers footed the bill).

I didn't intend for my comments to draw any other comparisons.

a bunch of this stuff he posts is to get a rise out of people. almost every single ps3 user on here mistakes said posts for "fanboyism," when in actuality it's really not. is it trolling? yeah. is it immature? well....yeah, but i still wouldn't lump him directly in with some of the 360 crazies out there who take ps3's out to the rifle range for fun. don't let him fool you, he's actually not like that beleive it or not.

I don't have the misfortune of knowing him as well you obviously do, so I only have his posts/actions here to form my rather low opinion of him.

Sony keeps the hits coming.

SOE, the computer side of Sony's online gaming has been hacked as well. They finally admitted that today.

Also, turns out they fired a third of their online staff right before the hack occurred. Lots of them continued to work until the PSN was taken offline. There's lots of rumors that suggest how easy it would have been for a 'lame-duck' employee riding out his remaining time waiting on his exit bonus could have gained easily gained access to the servers.

You go Sony. 2011 is shaping up nicely so far.
