rpvol said that from what he's read is that someone has hacked in and put a virus on it. he said if that's the case he's going to 360

that's not exactly what i said, but if my ps3 is done over someone hacking the psn or sony's screw up and sony won't make it right, i will have some pretty hard feelings.

i already have a 360 and am online with it, so its not like it would be hard. that said, if i have to buy a slim, i probably will.

Xbox live $50 a year. PSN free. Sense be upon you now?

Do we really need to have this discussion over and over about the online services of both??? There is no comparision period between the two and to continually use it as a positive point in favor of the PS3 that its service is free, is a huge reach. But keep telling yourself that PSN is anywhere near as good as Live. I have both systems before you start spatting off that I am a m$ homer.

From everything that I have read, this is NOT the case. No one was able to hack the PSN, it is a hardware glitch that has to do with leap year and the internal clocks. The really bad thing that I see with this also is that if they can only fix it with a FW update, how do you update PS3's that are not able to connect to PSN???

Haha! So do I and haven't turned my xbox on in 3 months but I prefer the live system over the psn. I was just being a smarta$$ about the price difference. My live subscription ran out in February and I have zero desire to re-up. It should be free, bottom line, but its still the better of the 2

I agree with everything in your post, except the free part, I am fine with them charging for the upkeep of a massive server.

No PSN, but the internet browser still works. I think that's one possibility being looked at.

i don't care bout the weak. ps3 needs to worry about their online users, they're the ones who buy map packs, etc.

A quick fix would be to update the FW, if that infact can fix it. But to think that Sony could just totally ignore the vast amount of customers that dont link their PS3 to an internet source is ridiculous.

The only reason that they would be more of a priority is that it would be easier to get them a FW update.

but in all honesty people that have the $ for a PS3 should have internet available. They may not play online but you'd think they would have internet at their houses.
