Ps4

I don't think one has an advantage over either. One just is uncomfortable as hell with first person shooters for me. I prefer the PS4 controller for side-scrollers, football, and the Souls games, but I have to use offset with FPS and third person shooters.

Interesting because I've played so many hours of Destiny, Battlefront, Killzone: Shadowfall, etc and I've honestly never had any issues. Where does the discomfort come from? Is it cramping? Sore thumb?

It has nothing to do with pain in my situation. My hands just aren't accustomed to how you have to hold the controller. My left thumb is conditioned to be almost vertical when using the left stick - not the almost-horizontal way the DS4 sticks require of both thumbs. You're a PS guy, so you've become accustomed to it. I've used the staggered controller exclusively on FPS since Halo in 2001. Like I said, it doesn't bother me as much on games that don't require a lot of twitch reactions with the sticks, but it's hard to break what feels right to you after having played thousands of hours of Halo, BF, and COD over 15 years. Give me the DS4 left and right bumpers (R1 and L1) all day long over my Xbox's though lol

Aside from just a handful of hours on BO3, 45 minutes on Ghosts and AW, I can't say that I've ever played a FPS on any of my four PlayStations lol they've always been my RPG machines.

Maybe that's it. Though I have both an X1 and PS4 and I switch back and forth between the two quite often. The thought just never occurred to me that one felt superior to the other. I think both controllers feel great. The main thing I miss on the DS4 are the individual motors on the triggers on the X1 controller. That feels so good when playing racing games.

That's probably the difference. For 20 years I've just never played those types of games with that controller. I think the DS4 is by far the best version though. They finally got the weight and size just right. I don't play many racing games but I think I know what you're talking about because they rumble when you gas it on GTA too?

Anyone have this headset? That new controller I bought doesn't have a headset jack so I need a wireless headset.

I will have them tonight lol.

I have read and read and read reviews on them and the bottom line is that they feel a bit cheaply made and some have had issues cracking on the headband (I think a high percent of those have melon heads) and not the best voice quality. The bass isn't as deep as many sets but it has the surround sound and where it shines is giving you a feel of what is around you, which is good in FPS games. I'll use mine tonight after work and be able to confirm, but from what many say, you cant beat them for the money (and that is at 99.99......72.99 is a steal)

I went ahead and ordered a pair off Amazon for $72. Looks like my only option with the new controller and for the price.

I used them tonight with BF1 and it has an excellent sound. They didn't feel cheaply made to me. Very happy with them. Don't forget to download the companion app from the PS Store. It works like a miniamp

Okay cool. I saw it lets you download settings for different games, right?

Killing Floor 2 and Life is Strange are the June freebies from Plus. Really excited to try out Killing Floor 2, looks like COD zombies on acid and I think its 6 player coop.

I just saw a few days ago that the PlayStation 3 had its final shipment in Japan, signaling the official end of the console.
