Ps4

Anyone play Trials yet?

I have. It's OK but it's not my thing. It got to be too frustrating. The progression is strange. You're going along and then it's like you suddenly hit this wall of difficulty. Plus with a game like this I find myself wanting to just race other bikes rather than doing these obstacle courses. I would love to see Evolution Studios take this engine and create a new Motorstorm game.

Also included in the update today
Today Sony Computer Entertainment released the new 1.7 firmware update, and published the official patch notes. Turns out, though, that the notes aren’t really complete, and the update includes several stealthy changes that Sony did not list, including some very relevant ones, like the ability to log in a second user with the same DualShock 4 controller, as discovered by NeoGAF user Guymelef and others.

System: You can now log in with multiple users with a single DualShock 4 controller without logging out the others.

System: The “What’s New” menu now has timestamps.

System: The log-in screen won’t be displayed anymore when reconnecting the DS4.

System: When a game crashes you can now choose to attach a video clip in the error report and send it to Sony.

System: Added option to automatically send error reports to Sony.

System: HDCP has to be enabled in order to watch Blu-Ray movies.

System: Several options have been added to the Video Playback Settings menu.

Settings – Audio: You can now force the PS4 to output 5.1 channel audio over HDMI even if it detects 7.1 channel support.

Settings – Video: “Deep Color Output” added. It’s possible to set it to “off” and “automatic”.

Share: It’s now possible to upload multiple screenshots to Facebook at the same time.

Streaming: Comments/viewers notifications added when you are in a full screen streaming.

Streaming: You can now upload screenshots and video while broadcasting.

Streaming: You can now view comments without having to switch streaming modes.

Remote Play: The PS Vita won’t fail to connect to your PS4 anymore if you have USB devices like keyboards or similar connected to it.

In addition to the changes listed above, multiple users are reporting that the whole operating system is now faster, especially on the PSN storefront, on the trophies screen, on the “What’s New” section and during overall multitasking.

Finally, others are also mentioning that the bug that caused the “Share” button to record the wrong segment of footage has been corrected, and now it correctly records the latest fifteen minutes of gameplay.

What's the game people are enjoying the most on the ps4 now?

I would also love an honest answer from ps4 owners, how far off is the next MUST HAVE for the system? I am just trying to decide if I want to delay a purchase until next year, or try and buy one in a few months.

I would throw out Destiny as the next must-own. Although nothing is really a must-own to me at this point anymore.

Sept. '14

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag was outstanding, but may not be your cup o' tea.

Killzone was visually stunning, but on gameplay alone, definitely not a must-own.

NBA 2k14 is NBA 2k14, but the graphics are incredible.

I enjoy BF4 and NBA right now and looking forward to the show next week. I don't know f I would say the next gen console is a must have right now, but I am certainly enjoying the improved graphics and smoother gameplay from the older gen. I don't think there would be a title considered a must have on the next gen consoles til around the end of the year with project cars and hopefully the division soon after. I will say, however, that I don't think you will be saving any money on a console purchase between now and then.

Most people in here will probably call Watch Dogs a potential must-own. And the gameplay seems right down your alley. Similarities to MGS, I would say.

I'm showing June 30th as a release date on that.

The only reason I didn't mention watch dogs is because it is coming out for the ps3 and 360 as well. But it looks to be superior on the next gen consoles.

Thanks for the advice guys. I may hold off until we get closer to the release of project cars. Maybe I will get one sooner if I have an amazing couple of months this summer, but at this point it doesn't seem as though there is a must have at the moment.

Being a must have is purely subjective, but I know that I could never go back to the PS3 or 360.......its like when I moved to HD from SD tv.

PS4 may not have that one AAA "must have" game right now but what it does have is powerful hardware, a fast, slick and easy to use inerface, and a lot of really solid to good games, which several are free to play. For me that really adds up. Free games like Blacklight Retribution, Warframe, War Thunder, Resogun, DC Superheroes, Don't Starve, Outlast, etc are all fun and none of them cost me a dime.

Aside from those the bigger titles worth playing IMO are...

Battlefield 4
Call of Duty Ghosts
Infamous Second Son
Assassins Creed Black Flag
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
NBA 2K14
Fifa 14
MLB The Show 2014 (out next week but will be awesome)
The Last of Us: Remastered (supposedly out in June)
Marvel Legos (great co-op game, especially if you have kids)
Knack (a solid action/platformer. Also good for kids)
Killzone Shadowfall (A graphic showpiece with a decent single player campain and bad multiplayer).
