They will be.

This time Playstation will continue with the superior game development but also have the hardware to beat out Microsoft.

Nintendo makes games for the true old-school gamers. They definitley are not for the type that get their system to look all nice under their TV then only buy the new Madden or some fancy racer and maybe one other game.

PS2 had better software this generation,x-box1 had better hardware. Now PS3 will have the better software and hardware. It's an easy decision, especially since the Grand Theft Auto series come out first on PS.

Grand Theft Auto orignally had a contract of exclusivity with PlayStation, but reworked things to sell on both consoles... But Sony negotiated and had it stipulated that Rockstar had to wait before they could release GTA on the XBox. I think the period was 6 months. I think the contract might be over by now, though.

I think that's debatable, especially if you are looking to play online with friends across the country. XBOX has the online title wrapped up and runs circles around the Playstation when it comes to that.

Graphics and games will pretty much be the same on both systems. With rising development costs, companies will shoot for a certain point that works for both units. After that, it comes down to online ability for some gamers, and XBOX is easily the best choice. It's absurd to think everyone is into online gaming, though, so this is just one reason why owning a 360 is worth it.

I'll have both, personally. I wont have a Nintendo since odds are they wont have the latest games I like. I also have no interest in purchasing old games of theirs again. I've played most all the old Nintendo games I want to play. The idea of slinging a remote control around the room doesn't appeal to me yet. I'll give it a shot, but given there last few consoles...I don't see more than 10 new games being developed a year.

That is true right now of the online debate, but the PS3 may very well go on to be equal to the XBox in that area. IMO it still comes down to game development and Microsoft just can't hang with Sony in that area. They simply can't get the same level of support outside of the US.

If you really think Sony's online compartment will be equal or better, remember this...1) Sony has already stated that it's still left to game developer to implement online solutions for their games, and 2) This is MS's second complete go at online which means a ton in the development area. It takes time to implement a program like that and it's just not something Sony will be able to equal. Absolutely no way they can match it.

The hardware of the two will be very similar and most games will be almost identical. I like the online aspect of the 360 a lot. I like the few extra developers Sony has. I also like the fact PS3 is a BluRay player, but that is going to cost you significantly when it comes out. It will never be equal or less than the 360 when it comes to price.

I'm all for buying both. What I'm really getting at is there are reasons to own both which some might overlook. Still, most people don't play online and waiting might be a good idea. But if all games look fairly similar and you have the 360 at $100+ cheaper, you might want to rethink the choice if you're only getting one.

Sony has a while longer. I don't think they'll leave the online issue unresolved before the system launch. They are aiming for nothing short of complete domination over the XBox, which they very well may get with an improved online interface.

But I still suspect you're right. The XBox's mutlimedia-based interface and online capabilities will keep it in competition with Sony, even if the PlayStation 3 is a better true-gaming console.
