PS3 price drop on the 15th?

The integration of the remote into a lot of its games, the affordable price point of it, the fact that Nintendo (and Sony) are still the two dominant names in game consoles everywhere else in the world, etc... Nintendo needed some serious help after the Gamecube, and I don't think they could have done a better job.

The Core system is worthless by itself, the Pro system is okay and the Elite system is nice.

but are there any games worth playing besides the sports pack?

Resident Evil 4, Zelda, Wario Ware, not to mention EA coming out with Fight Night and Tiger Woods soon. It will easily be worth it by Christmas time.

Tiger Woods has been out for a while, Zelda and Wario are kiddie games (aren't they?) and I don't think Resident Evil is out yet although that one does look fun.

The same things that could lead you to call Wii Sports a "kiddie game" are there with Wario Ware. No, it's not violent, there's no guns, and it's a bright game with cartoon characters. But it's still very fun. There's a new Tiger Woods game coming out... Fight Night is the main one I'm looking forward too, though.

I just can't bring myself to buy zelda or Wario. I didn't mean there was anything wrong with it being a "kiddie game" it just may not hold my interest. Not sure how wii sports would fall into that category.

Regardless, I may have to rent them some time. The fighting games don't appeal to me. Seems like it would get tiring. :dunno:

Maybe Tiger Woods will be fun.

Hm. My friends and I play Wii Sports boxing all the time. It's fun and actually burns a lot of calories.

I know the Wii's library won't be as strong down the road, but with a price point about half that of a PS3 or well-equipped 360, it should take a lot less to warrant purchasing one. That's why it's doing so well.

I agree, I'm just trying to figure out what everyone is playing....or if they are all just playing the sports pack like I am. :)

Red Steel is an awesome Wii game that is non-kiddie. When I first played it, it was like I'd never played a first person shooter before (very surreal). The coolest thing about it are the sword fights with the bosses. It's like real sword fighting.

It's only a matter of time before a Star Wars games comes out and we are swinging virtual lightsabers
