I don't need to tell myself anything. We're a good QB away from being a completely different team. Obviously you're not informed enough about the game to recognize the fact that a good QB makes everyone better. We have really good players everywhere but QB
So, I watched the whole interview. And here's my take.
Pruitt doesn't seem to be concerned about winning "now." I think he wants to win now, but I think he believes more in "the process" than he does in getting immediate results by trotting out the most athletic guy who's yet to pay his dues.
I'm gathering that Pruitt believes by forcing the younger guys to wait, or to "earn the right to play," even if they are more talented, it will make for a hungrier and more disciplined ball player when he finally allows those guys to take the field. And, as fans, we'll just have to wait until he gets a roster of at least two-deep in mature talent that performs as a complete unit before we're allowed to see it. Stated otherwise, I think he believes he's building a "Bama" or a "Clemson," not another LSU.
Let me be clear, I'm not defending Pruitt, and if you've read some of my more recent posts you'll see that I've lost a lot of faith in this staff recently (COVID or no COVID). However, if I'm right about my perception, get ready for another season of disappointment.
Just shut up and win aightPruitt has message for Tennessee fans after Alabama loss
Well....since he assures us I feel better now about a 31 point loss.
Our recruiting is not good enough to take us to the next level. You have to compete with the top SEC teams to change that and we are 0-8 as of today under Pruitt. 8 blowouts in year three. Pruitt is not the guy to get us to a top 10 program every year. We may be too 20 every now and then and that will be be a stretch with the program as if today.Yep. And despite great recruiting, we are not looking any better in Pruitt's year 3. I have become numb to the emotion I used to have for our games. I enjoy watching Kiffin and Ole Miss more than Tennessee.
the players are not good. That is obvious. Pruitt's job is to get good players. If the players are not good then it is his fault.Correct.
We have few, if any, players that are top 10 at their position in the SEC.
Until we buy better players, the gap will remain huge and wins will be few.
To the knee jerk "Farh da Coach" crowd I submit that Nick Saban could not coach this roster to a .500 SEC record consistently.
Only in a fairy tale can Rumpelstiltskin spin straw into gold.
Fulmer is not telling Pruitt to play JG or to go 3 and out multiple times.Everyone is overlooking the obvious. Fulmer is pulling the strings. He has always been arrogant and a control freak. Do you think he hired a position coach without the understanding Fulmer was in control? Jeremy Pruitt is a competitor but his hands are tied. He did like everyone else on this board would do and is keeping his mouth shut and collecting his millions. Do you honestly think Fulmer gave Pruitt an extension for Pruitt? If so you have no idea how things are ran at UT. That extension was for the single purpose of keeping Fulmer in the mist of things
