>Didn't execute very well. Didn't communicate. Need to play faster on the perimeter. Have to protect better and establish the run. And obviously take care of the football. Too many penalties. Never got in a rhythm.

>Defensively, a lot of guys played hard but not always smart. Made a lot of mistakes on third down. A lot of positives we can clean up.

>Week in and week out you have to be able to take care of the football. We did have some takeaways on defense and the fourth down stops.

>Stoops has done a fantastic job. One of the best teams in the league running the football. They have an experienced offensive line. They create issues on defense and have been one of the best in the league the last 3-4 years.

>We have to get back to work this week and have a positive attitude.

>On Deandre Johnson's targeting penalty... It was a bad decision on his part. He took 2.5 steps. If you can avoid contact on a defensive player it's your job to do that. I've always thought there was inconsistency in the rule, it's a good rule though. But it's simple. He should have avoided the quarterback. He knows that.

>They converted three third downs where we had the best call we could be in, but we didn't execute it. Need to communicate and execute it.

>On Sunday's scrimmage... We took 49 snaps. Harrison Bailey took every one of them. For him that was good. He didn't get a lot of live action in fall camp. It was good for a lot of guys. A lot of energy. We have to continue to do this and give these guys an opportunity to develop.

>Jerome Carvin, Jahmir Johnson and Riley Locklear all barely practiced last week. Hope to have them back this week.

>Tamarion McDonald was one of the bright spots in the scrimmage.

>The PI call on Jaylen McCollough, he was about a half step early. Thought it could have been a no call.

>They shifted their defensive line based on something with the timing of the quarterback. That's something we need to fix.

>At receiver we have to release and get off the line of scrimmage faster.

>Kentucky plays good defense. They probably should be 3-0. They lost a tough one at Ole Miss and we know what happened at Auburn with the play that was reviewed there. It will be a tremendous challenge for us.

>We lost to Georgia because they outplayed us in the second half. We will get better. This is three weeks in a row we've had our entire team. We couldn't overcome the penalties and turnovers.

>I though we improved this week on defense from the week before.

>Jarrett is our quarterback. He gives us the best opportunity to have success. When you have 1st and 20 it's tough to make first downs. We didn't protect and we didn't play fast enough on the perimeter. Offensively our struggles were not because of one independent person.

>On black jerseys... Our players and staff want to, but it's something we aren't going to be able to do because of contracts. We aren't going to be able to do it this game, but Nike guaranteed us from now on we'd be able to have black uniforms and black jerseys.

/the end.

Sounds like just from the notes Pruitt is saying GA is what it is. We could have fixed some stuff and maybe made the score look a little better, but we aren't there yet.

Yeah, we cant have the penalties and turnovers and have a chance to hang with them. We would have to play pretty perfect

I'll comment on the elephant in the room: if HB isn't QB2, why would he have taken all the scrimmage reps?

Thought he was in quarantine during the pre-season scrimmage and didn't get reps like the others but not sure.

Well, I hate it, but I'm most likely done watching or caring this year. Call me what you want. It's a short year anyway. When there is zero possibility of a coach saying that the 5th year QB that can't read a complete progression down before the play expires is the guy that gives us the best chance to win, I'll watch again.

One of the most concerning comments from JP‘s opening statement was the lack of communication and properly identifying the Mike.

That is a recipe for disaster. Identifying the Mike is one of the first reads an offense makes and it’s not a secret. This is typically called it out to the offense for protection when you line up.

Pruitt will never show his hand during a press conference. If anything he'll use a PC to mis-lead an opponent and he rarely does that either. He simply will not divulge any info that an opponent could use. Identical to Saban.

If I were Shrout or Maurer, I'd probably go ahead and enter the transfer portal, and not risk getting chucked into a game completely unprepared by this staff.
