He's the head coach. He chose to to hire the assistants and coordinators on staff. He chooses how to run practice. Players play like they practice, and are a direct reflection of the coaching they receive.
That's why he get's paid nearly $ 4 million a year, because ultimately, that responsibility falls on him.
The team does not look to have improved from week 1, in fact, it does not look improved from the end of 2017.

He gets paid 4 mil a year...give him the whole year to build his product then...
Again, most(not all) of last nights problems were because of execution...
Pruitt has some things to improve as a coach....talent and roster being the most glaring of them...
So what?! You’re acting like he picked up a player and body slammed him to the ground!
He kicked a board! Are we going to start judging coaches ability to coach because they showed some frustration?! Good grief...
Poor discipline, poor fundamentals week in and week out, do not show a properly prepared team that's playing a game 4 weeks into the season that is on a path of improvement.
Not to be rude, but it really seems like you think entire mindsets can be changed in a few months or practices. The players are Butch's and they are soft and severly unmotivated (minus a select few).
Players play like they have been coached for the last 2-4 years. That is a direct reflection of the coaching they received pre-Pruitt.
It really, really , really takes time to change / instill a new mindset in people and to develop talent.
It's almost like you expect hamburgers from marshmallows.
I'm not expecting SEC contenders, but proper execution of the basic fundamentals of football, and disciplined play, is too much to ask from a coach who is coaching Div I players who were highly recruited, and for most of them, have been playing football since grade school? In 9 months, he can't get, at the bare minimum, for them to at least look like a Div I football team in a P5 conference? Can't get a modicum of improvement from week 1 to week 4 in the season?
I'm not sure that the expectation can be reduced any lower for Pruitt at this point. First time head coach or not, you have to show competency in your coaching abilities to improve a team, and we're not seeing that on the field at the moment.
