Pruitt vs. The Whiteboard

I wished he would have broken the thing in half , like Bo Jackson with the bat over his knee, and then eaten it like Les Miles and turf. I swear can we get a millineal filter for this board please.

He's the head coach. He chose to to hire the assistants and coordinators on staff. He chooses how to run practice. Players play like they practice, and are a direct reflection of the coaching they receive.

That's why he get's paid nearly $ 4 million a year, because ultimately, that responsibility falls on him.

The team does not look to have improved from week 1, in fact, it does not look improved from the end of 2017.

He gets paid 4 mil a year...give him the whole year to build his product then...

Again, most(not all) of last nights problems were because of execution...

Pruitt has some things to improve as a coach....talent and roster being the most glaring of them...

Not to be rude, but it really seems like you think entire mindsets can be changed in a few months or practices. The players are Butch's and they are soft and severly unmotivated (minus a select few).

Players play like they have been coached for the last 2-4 years. That is a direct reflection of the coaching they received pre-Pruitt.

It really, really , really takes time to change / instill a new mindset in people and to develop talent.

It's almost like you expect hamburgers from marshmallows.

You can not have the talent needed to win, and still play like a well-coached team, that came out to win, and was bested by a better team.

That didn't happen against WVU, and that certainly didn't happen last night against Florida. Poor discipline, poor fundamentals week in and week out, do not show a properly prepared team that's playing a game 4 weeks into the season that is on a path of improvement.

So what?! You’re acting like he picked up a player and body slammed him to the ground!

He kicked a board! Are we going to start judging coaches ability to coach because they showed some frustration?! Good grief...

I could get behind him if he’d have thrown a player like that. At least you could say it was showing them how to tackle.

Heh, funny thing is, few of our lads are millennials. They're too young, mostly.

The very youngest millennials were born in 1996, and are 22 years old. Most millennials are in their 30s, or at least closer to 30 than 20.

Most of our lads are Generation Z.

Were already good at kicking made our field goals and extra points. Our OL couldn't block a line of Grandmas that is where the focus of all energy by Pruitt and everyone should be and on getting JG mentally prepared. That first turnover was bad blocking but JG has to be aware of that and throw that ball away.

giphy.gif I want my shot at that Tennessee QB they can't block me.

It's true but why are you expecting Pruitt to drastically change the players within a few months and 4 real games when most of the players were coached by Butch for YEARS?

We had a band member coaching a football team. And wonder why we're soft less than a year after he was fired.

I'm not expecting SEC contenders, but proper execution of the basic fundamentals of football, and disciplined play, is too much to ask from a coach who is coaching Div I players who were highly recruited, and for most of them, have been playing football since grade school? In 9 months, he can't get, at the bare minimum, for them to at least look like a Div I football team in a P5 conference? Can't get a modicum of improvement from week 1 to week 4 in the season?

I'm not sure that the expectation can be reduced any lower for Pruitt at this point. First time head coach or not, you have to show competency in your coaching abilities to improve a team, and we're not seeing that on the field at the moment.

I agree with most of that but possibly, just possibly, many of these players had already given up by the time Pruitt came or (sadly) they just suck despite star ratings?

I remember reading about how even after so many losses many players still wanted Butch and also some article about how the players' moms loved Butch because he babied them.

The basic fundamentals is a serious issue. Why can't we execute the basics? We couldn't do it last year at all so I don't really expect improvement until we get kids who want to wear orange and white and walk through the T.

I prefer coaches that produce Ws.

I prefer players who produce wins as well. Kinda hard to win as a coach when you get a safety, touchback, dropped kick return fumble .......

Heck I'll even take players who WANT to win. I think we have... 6.

Pruitt will get this right... I promise you he will.. We can talk about this next year once he has a year under his belt and the players have had a year under the strength and conditioning coach.. You cant work miracles over night like some fans think..

Spurrier used to throw his headset and visor and nobody crucified him or ran him off...hell Butch jones wouldn't do anything but turn red like a lobster... everyone is different. I think the kick shows he won't put up with the mistakes very much and who can blame him?
