Pruitt vs Clemson! We will be watching that defense!

So none of the kids Smart got last year had anything to do with his time at Bama?

So, I should just sit back and watch the 5* players fight over which one comes to Tennessee just because Pruitt coached, excuse me, still coaches at Alabama?

Sounds good.
You've convinced me.

Class it up.

Never root against anyone.

Root FOR SEC reputation as the best. Root for the team with the most Tennessee players. Root for one or the other, but not against.

Might want to check out Alvin C. York if you are representing this state.

Give Pruitt a break and let him finish what he started. After that, he'll give his all for Tennessee. No doubt about that. Right now, he has given everything he has to help Bama get a title (and in doing so, get himself a ring, too). He and Bama didn't win it a year ago. And he wasn't the DC two years ago when Bama won the title. Kirby Smart was.) This isn't just any bowl game. His own sense of professionalism requires that he finish out the season with a championship on the line. That's the kind of coach and man that Tennessee should be proud of. (If you disagree, fine, but it won't change the fact that he's coaching Bama in the playoffs. So get over it. He'll be in Knoxville soon enough. You can still root against Bama AND respect Pruitt's decision.)

There's no place to disrespect Pruitt's decision to be on the Tide sideline, but reasonable individuals can certainly look askance at Fulmer's desire to hire him at TN. I don't because I think that once again we had to take whatever fell to us, but I completely understand those who have a problem with the hire right off the bat.

Butch and Dooley were definitely a hiring problem. I’ve got a lot more faith in this hire considering the conference experience and ties. Add in being on the national stage and around top programs every year and that makes this a damn good hire. His resume is 10x what Dooley’s and Lyle’s were when they were hired and that’s without him even being a HC.

People are too concerned about recruiting. Recruiting has never been UTs problem though some of you act like Clemson getting beat by Bama is going to open the flood gates to national championships. Its ludicrous actually, people rooting for Bama to win, a powerhouse SEC team we play EVERY year for what 60+ years? Over an ACC team that has no bearing on our seasons because a couple recruits? Nonsense.

I think two NC as a DC helps Pruitt close a few recruitments. And as our new HC, I wish good things for him. None of the other teams winning even has that benefit for us. Hate them all and pull for Pruitt! :good!:

That along with a stack of good coaches with him.
Toward the end things may swing his way.

I couldn’t care less if Bama defense shuts out everyone in the CFP. All I care about is how he coaches Tennessee

Terrible thread. Pruitt will not have the *'s on the defense here that he has at Bama.

It's like apples to oranges.

Even the little things he does involve defense against Clemson! Our eyes will be glued!:):good!::hi:
You got a frog in your pocket? We? I won't. I hope Alabama gets killed by 60 points. I grew up hating Alabama, just like all self-respecting Vol fans. It sickens me that Judas hired one to be the face of Tennessee football.

Get over it. Coaching is a different animal than fandom.

SMH @ anyone wanting Clemson to win. The one school hurting UT more than anyone else, in regards to stealing elite local talent CLEMSON, and we have fools rooting for them to win. How stupid lol :eek:lol:

The one school hurting UT more than anyone else is UT.

Three terrible hires after letting Fulmer coast and they have followed it up with a guy who isn't really invested in the program for his first month on the job with no head coaching experience.

Get a good head coach that can consistently win at a high level and the Clemson's, Georgia's, and Alabama's of the world won't be able to steal those local recruits.

Factor in that UT seldom plays Clemson but plays Alabama every year and it stands to reason that a Vol fan should be pulling for Clemson.
