The thing is, Pruitt is here as our HC and not our DC.

Yeah, he may mingle with the defense, but it takes more than knowing how to coach defense to be a good coach.

Truth. You accurately describe VN logic of so many. They say they want their team to succeed, but predict disaster with glee. I was in Neyland when Majors' team beat the Bear in '82 & have seen VOLs defeat & lose to those Bammers. I hope CJP's defense shuts out Clemson & wins it all. Then he comes to Knoxville & makes the yellow-hammers miserable. :hi:

So he must win at Alabama to win at Tennessee? Is there any way possible they could lose this game and he could still win at Tennessee?

Asking for a friend causr i never go for Alabama, ever.

You know that isn’t the point. I don’t want ANY of these playoff teams to win. One will, and if it isn’t Bama, Pruitt will be 0-2 vs Clemson in the playoffs. SOMEONE will mention that little tidbit in recruiting and everything else. I’d rather our new coach have a fresh NC ring to show anyone wanting to join up.

Id rather our new coach not be showing anything Alabama while recruiting to Tennessee. It seems to me him showing an Alabama ring would help recruiting.......in Alabama.

Plenty of folks are already saying that regardless of the outcome of the bama game. Either way, he is our coach and things are a mess with our program. I think we would be better served with him here on the job giving it his undivided attention and effort as soon as possible.

He’s running the defense that beats Clemson and wins the NC and it shuts off a huge part of the narrative. Nothing he can’t do during this dead period from there that he could in Knoxville.

Yall should all hope Bama lose to OK not Clemson. Clemson is the one beating us for new recruits. We don't need a team in SC turning into Bama jr. Bama is going to get kids regardless. We should hope Clemson disappears into mediocrity again. Not get a boost by winning another championship.

Differential situation.

We don’t play Clemson every year.

We play Bama in SEC play every year.
