I'd hold him out. We need him down the stretch to push for a bowl
"...to push for a bowl", are you serious? Do you believe we are going "Bowling" this year? After this game we're going to be 2-5, we have beaten Chattanooga, and MS-everyone else we played, could be referred to as "Not our finest hour".

I think the schedule sets up pretty good in the back end but they always let us down so I'm not counting on it

SC was down to their third string qb and pulled an upset. If they aren't going out to try and win this Saturday, then why even suit up?
If Bama gives it away like UGA did then UT’s chances improve.

Did USCe score after Hilinski went down? I don’t think they did

No idea. We were at our game and only caught the overtime for the UGA/SC game.

I saw bits and pieces but enough to see Fromm play awful. His timing was off. He was off target. His decisions weren't as crisp as normal. If USCe was doing anything special to disrupt him, I couldn't tell. It looked like he had open receivers and just missed them a lot.

Bama has not been great in pass D this year. They're still very, very good but not as good as the last several years. There is an opportunity for UT to move the ball through the air. USCe with Hilinski in his 2nd start was very effective with the short passing game. With Maurer, there is at least a hope that UT can work that short passing game into tight coverage. JG's history is that he simply won't attempt throws into tight or even semi-tight coverage.

So this guy did basically the same thing Maurer did without a helmet and he’s paralyzed. Save Maurer until he’s fully healed.

I would rest him and play JG or even give Shrout a shot. His long term health is more important.

I 50% agree. I would rather us play who’s healthy but also runs the offense best and gives us the best chance to “win” against Bama. So I’m gonna say rest Maurer if needed but with the staff now willing to move on from JG I’m content with letting the QB situation play out.

PS - I put win in quotations for... reasons
