Look at the conference records. Dooley was much worse there, and with a weaker Florida/Georgia to contend with.

I honestly don't think he will get fired but he will have a rather significant shake up within his staff. I can see 3-5 assistants moving on, some voluntarily.

Dooley also went 4-19 (.174) in SEC play. Pruitt, even if he loses both remaining games this year and goes 0-8 in SEC play next year, would finish 9-25 (.265). Pruitt's overall record is taking more of a hit than it would otherwise because of COVID - he's playing all conference games this year.

It's almost impossible to overstate just how bad Dooley was here. His 4 conference wins in 3 years were against Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Vandy twice.

Dooley left us with less talent than Pruitt will if we make a change soon. Also burned a lot of bridges with high school coaches in state. Pruitt is a worse on the field coach imo than Dooley though. Dooley’s offense was good.
