You get a takeaway, just take the damn ball home with you.

I still can’t fathom what they were thinking with the trash can. I get that maybe the kids wanted something gimmicky to hype themselves up after a takeaway but you have to do something better than a trash can. But then again Lyle was all about making it easy for the media and other fans to crack jokes and laugh at us.

Reminds me of this...

Am I the only one who thought the "circle of life" thing was stupid?

I actually liked it.

I think it was a way to make sure everyone was on notice to be ready. If you could get called on one on one in front of the whole team maybe you work a little harder.

The part of the game it simulated was winning your match up. Beating YOUR man so to speak.

With that being said, I think its impact on our players and the injury bug is exaggerated. Coaches did it for years so I don't exactly think it was gimmicky, just old school a.k.a. Out-dated.

My daddy made me anything but a loser...I'm not the richest or best looking out there but life won't ever beat me. I feel terribly for all the youngsters that are taught it is okay to lose because they put their best efforts in.

If you feel that way then why work to be better? When your wife can't have kids then why adopt a kid who has worthless parents? You put your best effort in trying to conceive...

You get laid off from a job you worked 10+ years at...well you did your best no need in finding another job....these lessons are bigger than sports.

Edit. These are my life experiences and I'm not ashamed to throw it out there.

I hear you brother. Been down some mean streets myself in my 63 years.

Along the lines of JP being a “No BS Coach”......

From Chris Low-

“Uniform changes are a hot-button topic with fans, but anybody who thinks @CoachJPruitt has spent much time thinking about “Smokey Gray” unis doesn’t get him. He was asked about it and answered. Simple as that. “What we need is players and to develop those players, not gimmicks.”

That's not the point. I'm not being spoon fed a bunch of nonsense cliché sayings, stupid ass gimmicks like Volympics or anything ancillary to accomplishing the goal of being a successful program.

So, no, we haven't won anything, but his approach is the one I've hoped to see from a long time on the Hill.

Thing about the spoon feeding is that you voluntarily accepted it.

Not me. I've been against Jones since the day he was hired. Dooley, too. I have few skills in life, but one is I'm pretty good at spotting con men.
