Pruitt talks offensive struggles

You could have put Travis Henry or Jamal Lewis out there today with a high school offensive line and they could have rushed for more than 20 yards. Sometimes a back has to make someone miss. It's not 100 percent on the OL. That was a complete stinkfest by everyone involved on the offensive side of the football.

I agree with you. Horrible game by the entire offense.

Did anyone catch CJP's halftime interview where he talked about the offensive penalties and said either they can be coached up or replaced? I wanted to get people's opinions on those comments. Myself, I like the straightforward approach versus the previous regime.
In sports, you have to be honest in your assessment of abilities: cognitive and physical attributes, some of these hard working young men are not Div I as it relates to that, good young men, but not great football players.....but their Vols, and that is more than 99.9% can say on this site.

Meh. No energy and half effort is subjective. I haven’t seen that much this year.

But listening to the post game interviews it sounds like we may have been looking ahead to Kentucky, which falls on the staff to a large degree. Although I heard Pruitt hammering all week about how this would be a tough game.
I would like to think they were looking ahead to KY..... but the Oline appeared to have one eye on Dallas and one on St. Paul

He knows how bad the OL is. No SEC caliber starters and zero quality depth. In reality the only reason our rushing numbers looked so good in 2015 and 2016.

Apparently there are no conference USA caliber starters on the o-line. Either that or his O-line coach sucks.

Hate to say this but would he resign after next year if he can’t get at least 7 wins next year?? I can’t imagine the fan base if he resigned...some would be happy some in utter shock....

If Pruitt either resigns or gets fired after only 2 years, then we will be set even further back than we are now. Fans need to understand we need stability in our coaching. Another regime change in 2 years would be a disaster.

all JGs haters starting from last seasons GT game -- I actually dont care for KC he kind of looks slow and out of shape --finish the season with JG -- and use Chandler the same way

Yet the time KC has played he did not get sacked once. JG gets sacked immediately against Charlotte.

Which is more likely? A well respected OL coach with a great reputation just sucking or an OL full of players that have sucked majorly for years?

He’s not walking away from millions.

He needs to nut up and get the job done.....but holy crap.... how can you do anything on O with a wet paper towel for an Oline

Indeed, there in lies the problem, but we do have as the butcher said, "Champions of Heart"
