Pruitt talks offensive struggles

I dont think the point is clear. The better comparison is to compare our roster to SC who just beat us.
They did beat us. By 3 in their house with them coming off a bye week and us coming off Auburn and Bama back to back. It isn’t like we laid a complete egg that game. We lost on the road against a team that was widely considered second best in the East coming into this season. SC isn’t a great team but they aren’t a bad one either.

Just cant quit blaming Butch Jones, guess what, he's not here. Pruitt has had plenty of time to teach, and is paid well to do it.
The man hasn’t even had a chance to get his players. We don’t know because we aren’t with the team 24/7 but it’s possible they are teaching this group the right things and the players just aren’t capable of executing. It’s also possible the coaches have no idea what they are doing. The only way to find out is wait and see.

Wasn’t it like last week how we all said how good offense looked and bad defense looked?? Wow... you guys are ridiculous how fast you forget.
There’s definitely a lot of knee-jerk reactions on here but that’s to be expected. The offense played good at SC and the defense let us down and that script was flipped this week. On the season though I would say the offense is bad and the defense is mediocre.

Did anyone really expect this season to be other than what it is turning out to be? Jones left the program with more than its share of blue chippers and if it holds up, there's more coming next year. The Vols have tradition, a venerable stadium, and a fanatical base of support. If this coach can't turn it around with that, he needs to be in a different line of work.

You might be right but I find his criticisms fair and I have no problem with him calling them out. Today Drew Richmond got pulled after failing (once again) to block his man and never returned to the game ... it's about time IMO. I also liked his halftime comment that "it's the same players committing the same fouls over and over and he (the coaching staff) either has to do a better job coaching OR THEY NEED TO REPLACE THEM" ... tough talk and I like it.
If D.R. Isn’t sure who he should block on a pass attempt then block the guy in front of you. if you don’t know the snap count ask somebody. He made me want to kick my television .

Who did we play tonight?
How many touchdowns did our great leader JG lead us too?
JG got a 65.5 QBR rating against Charlotte. Do you think that is acceptable?

As far as the triple coverage ... there were other plays he did the same thing.. He needs to learn how to look beyond his primary receiver but I don't think he can and I don't think the coaches think he can either and that's why they have him throwing screens and short timing routes.

Are you a one trick pony? At this point everyone knows your opinion on JG, you’ve stated it enough in other threads, we got it, JG sucks.

Just think about Pruitts comments after his first team meeting after getiing hired. He remaked about how small we were. That spoke volumes. Think about what he is used to. Bama, UGA and FSU. He is used to having players who know how to do their jobs effectively. He has said time and time again that he needs better players. And if anyone cannot see that he does then you are blind. How could Pruitt not feel lost with this roster? He has an OL that is small, soft, weak and just flat out terrible. There is no quality depth. Your best OL is unfortunately not able to get healthy. He has no quality depth anywhere on the defense.

I mean what in the world is Jeremy Pruitt supposed to do?
Trey Smith and Brandon Kennedy....there is our SEC ready Caliber O-Linemen. See the problem. The majority of the others at this point would be lucky to start with n a MAC level team.

I’m seeing the same pattern here on VN as I saw with Dooley & Jones. First year: “It’s the players’ fault! We’ll be great once we get better players.” Third year: “It’s the coaches’ fault! We’ll be great once we get better coaches!”

Do you have trouble ignoring my comments?

No, not at all. I’m here like most to discuss Tennessee football, you are welcome to your opinions and posting about them. I just don’t see the need to post the same thing over and over again. As far as ignoring you, believe me, I do.
Oh and JG sucks.,right?

JG has his faults and lacks many QB skills but what I'm questioning is why they don't play KC so we can see if the JG from Auburn or the KC from Bama show up. What we are doing now is dumb... even Pruitt said that we needed smarter play from the QB position. Yet we play only the one QB, even when he's getting hammered. KC did well against Bama but hasn't played in the last two games. What if JG gets injured?

As to your will power to ignore my comments ... it's not looking good ( joking )

Now this post is constructive. I’m not for either quarterback, just hope we get it right at some point. I can’t really figure this coaching staff out. Maybe they have given up on the season for better return next year, or they haven’t gotten the players to buy in.? I’ve read multiple reasons or excuses. The only thing I tell myself, while we, as a fanbase have been frustrated for multiple years, this is new for the coaching staff.

Pruitt realizes he is using the best OL and DL players he has and has coached them as well as he can. How they play determines whether we win or lose. He knows we need better players at those positions and I am sure he is trying to get them by next season.

Sorry--but I didn't get to watch the game....

Did they broadcast that incident on TV--or did you observe it while at the game?

I heard it from someone else, didn't witness it myself, so maybe best to take it with a grain of salt.

Did KC lead us to victory over Bama?

I'm confused, I though Winning was the measurement?

KC has done nothing this year that JG couldn't do as well!

Nothing KC has shown even warrants an opportunity to play more, let alone start a game!!!

Shame it takes 3 years.
