Pruitt talks offensive struggles

I dont know where you get this from. The players are playing with a lot of heart. Pruitt is just being honest. There is nothing wrong with that.

That team was unmotivated and flat today, with the same issues. They’re not embracing his teaching. And I don’t blame him for being ticked.

I do believe the announcers when they said they talked with Helton about the Offense and the fact that he would love to open things up but we can't. The line won't allow us to do a lot of things Helton wants to do.

I don’t believe our only options are up the middle, toss sweep, or a must throw on third down. Now maybe for Helton and Pruitt they are but not a good coaching staff

Just think about Pruitts comments after his first team meeting after getiing hired. He remaked about how small we were. That spoke volumes. Think about what he is used to. Bama, UGA and FSU. He is used to having players who know how to do their jobs effectively. He has said time and time again that he needs better players. And if anyone cannot see that he does then you are blind. How could Pruitt not feel lost with this roster? He has an OL that is small, soft, weak and just flat out terrible. There is no quality depth. Your best OL is unfortunately not able to get healthy. He has no quality depth anywhere on the defense.

I mean what in the world is Jeremy Pruitt supposed to do?

Beat the snot out of Charlitte?

Please tell me how many of Charlotte's players were recruited by any SEC team. You guys can blame the players until your faces turn blue. That doesnt change the fact that we have plenty enough talent to beat half of the teams on our schedule and it appears that's not going to happen. To pretend that every team in the SEC has BAMAs talent is silly and to use it as an excuse for not being able to easily put away Charlotte is ludicrous.

It’s not just the OL. Our RBs are laughable at their attempts to pass protect, even against a clearly inferior opponent. Add in the least mobile QB in P5 football, and you have complete offensive paralysis. But, Helton took a million bucks to fix it so he needs to be last person whining about his team. He needs to earn his money.

Pruitt and his staff absolutely deserve blame.

He is definitely outwardly negative about his players, and they are definitely not responding to his leadership. This could get worse, quickly.

You might be right but I find his criticisms fair and I have no problem with him calling them out. Today Drew Richmond got pulled after failing (once again) to block his man and never returned to the game ... it's about time IMO. I also liked his halftime comment that "it's the same players committing the same fouls over and over and he (the coaching staff) either has to do a better job coaching OR THEY NEED TO REPLACE THEM" ... tough talk and I like it.

TEs cannot block either. How is Helton whining when he is telling the truth? The only way to fix this crap is through recruiting.

Wouldn’t you be with this roster? Literally only two players were recruited by Bama according to the announcers
So because Bama didn’t recruit them they aren’t good players. There are tons of good players in this country that wasn’t recruited by Bama. How many players on Kentucky, South Carolina or Missouri’s roster were recruited by Bama?

Not exactly sure about the player decision making on O. The OL isn't good then they couple that with a QB that can't read D's, makes poor decisions missing wide open receivers in trade for safe check downs, and seems to be a half count late on most throws. The only way to explain that is that they're trying to play for the future and think they can develop JG with enough game reps.

A lot of Jones defenders whine about Dooley not recruiting the OL... that's actually the case now.

Do those other schools have a Bama guy as their head coach trying to run what he knows? No. We have good players. They were just never developed by the previous coaching staff. But to compete in the SEC, you have to recruit with the likes of Bama, Georgia, and LSU. Point was crystal clear by the announcer

Our team is not used to brutal honesty. Botch only believed in cliches and lies.

Do you find it funny that Butch was considered a “fun coach” and got poor results?

I truly believe these players are being pushed by the coaching staff to the max but they’re not executing their assignments.

Are they truly trying or are they really not that good as their recruiting rankings indicate?

Pruitt seems to be all business and keeps mentioning that a lot of the players need to do it the right way.

I don’t think we’ll improve much until Pruitt gets his own guys in who are willing to be part of something special. The damage has already been done sadly to this team.

I dont think the point is clear. The better comparison is to compare our roster to SC who just beat us.

This offense is the worst coached offense in college football. Between the OC and the line coach this offense is awful. The players they have are just not coached. Pruitts buddy coaching the line needs to be fired tonight.

I think he knows after nine games what he has, and it's a little depressing to all of us.

I think, like most of us, that Pruitt thought that the talent was underdeveloped but there and just needed some decent coaching to start an upward tragectory. I think he is finding out that changing the losing culture that Butch installed is much more difficult that he thought and will take longer than he originally anticipated when he signed on. I think that will disappoint him but not deter him. He seems to be the type of fellow who rises to the challenge. Time will tell.
