Pruitt "Struggling" Says Griffith

Siap.

I actually debated not posting this, because, IMO, it borders on slanderous. The amount of hearsay and speculation presented in this article as fact, after everything Tennessee has been through in that regard, is at best irresponsible, and at worst, complete slander of Pruitt.

Tennessee football podcast: Phillip Fulmer credibility boosts struggling new coach Jeremy Pruitt

To write something like this two weeks in after 5 years of towing the company line with Butch is mind boggling to me.

If you agree, let Mike know.

I agree! And to take it a step further why even post it??!

It is not a newspapers job to pump sunshine. It's a newspapers job to report facts. There's been a lot of harsh facts about UT football since 2005 if not earlier. I don't understand why people would rather ignore them for a big ole bowl of sunny flakes.

Who’s “ignoring”? Just not SHUTTING DOWN.

Coaching our enemy in their quest to win another NC is the problem. Pruitt's on our payroll. I find it amusing that so many Vols fans are defending that BS. Nick Saban himself didn't finish his last season at Michigan State, leaving that team before their bowl game to get started making LSU a power. He did that because Nick Saban likes to win. I hope Pruitt likes to win too. So far he's shown that he likes winning for our arch rival more than for us. Getting behind Pruitt doesn't mean blinding yourselves to this reality. Keep doing that and you're going to find yourself in the same Yay/hmmmm/Boo cycle that Vols fans have gone through with Dooley and Butch.

Well well JohnnyBravo...he actually is not on the payroll until after the playoffs. That was part of the deal for him to coach. I like the fact that he wants to win a championship. I see nothing wrong with it. And he will bring that same attitude to Tennessee. If you don't like it, get off the Vol train and start rooting for someone else. We don't need your kind representing the VOLS.

Not entirely. Now that the rating has moved up to bad, rather than mind boggling bad, I'm seeing dozens of posters go gaga over what could end up being the worst signing class TN has had since following recruiting became a thing.

Hopefully we see a huge jump before NSD.

Still play in the SEC. Still need top 5 year in year out classes.

Call me when you can

No I am not. Just telling it like it is.

Why is it that folks bash other coaches for situations like what happened to Penix but now are "okay" that these coaches are doing that??

Pruitt should be at Tennessee right now finishing up hiring his staff and getting all of them on the same page.

Relax!

Most of (if not all of) the guys who has been or will be hired as assistant coaches is also currently coaching there current/former team in Bowl preparations.

I've refrained from commenting on Griffith's hit piece on CJP, but I really need to offer my thoughts. Overall I've liked Griffith's reporting, but that "struggling" nonsense was so out of line. Was he butt hurt because he didn't get an interview or some nonsense like that? Did he have an agenda to hurt CJP's recruiting? Just don't understand. Definitely a piece of crap, cheap shot journalism.

That last sentence is dead on. Truefans gonna truefan though. CJP's gonna need a tuck job with so many people hanging on his sack.

has nothing to do with that. most are savvy enough that they will know what is or is not a good football team/coach, pretty early on.

this has more to do with pushing a narrative on a guy "struggling" as if he already sucks.

which is complete BS. the guy has bee on the job 2 freaking weeks, got what, 5 guys to sign that weren't on our radar before?

there's no "truefan" syndrome here, but to characterize Pruitt as "struggling" as griff did here, reeeeeeeeeeeks of butthurt that his guy is no longer here.

and virtually everyone else that has a clue regarding the actual situation Pruitt has taken over, says the exact opposite about what he's been able to do in such a short amount of time, given the siutation.

are we supposed to believe that griff is now all the sudden the most objective, rational, smartes guy reporting on this situation, when most people vehemently believed all he was was a water carrier for CBJ.

the only question i have about him now is who is carrying water for now that makes it in any way shape or form beneficial to him to go out and try and push this narrative?

if pruitt sucks, we'll know it, and it will be treated accordingly...just like the last 4 coaches.

don't worry about that..................

rather, why not get to Feb 8 and see where it all stands? then you (the collective you) might have a better read on things vs. 8 days.

oh, yeah, we don't do that anymore........just post stuff to get a click. that's all this is.

Not to hijack but could someone with privileges to start a thread start just a generic 2017/2018 Bowl thread. I think it would be fun to talk about the current and upcoming games. I would like to give a shout out today for example to UAB. They were totally screwed over by the Bammers in the state legislature and came back from the ashes to an 8 win season and a bowl appearance. Good for them.

The so-called “honeymoon period” that each new head coaching hire enjoys could be evaporating quickly in Knoxville.

And yet not one play has been called, not one ball snapped.

A little premature to be tearing down a head coach and his staff, don't you think? This entire article was nothing more than vain words from a vain man.

Whatever, Mike.

Whatever.

It's premature to be tearing him down or building him up. right now he is the defensive coordinator for Alabama, nothing more, nothing less. Titles be damned.
