Pruitt Speaks With Paul Finebaum On NSD20: Video

I can honestly say I have more confidence in Coach Pruitt than Kiffin, Dooley, and Jones combined.......the most confidence since Coach Fulmer.

We have revisionist history I think. Because under Jones, I was pretty confident he was the man after the first 3 years. He got us to 9 wins. I'm just saying I'm a wait and see kinda of person. Let Pruitt do his thing and hope we keep getting better.

I am very pleased with how Pruitt is coming along as a head coach but you basically had the same OC plus EO who is now the head coach at undefeated LSU on staff when Kiffin was here.

I think Pruitt is a much better human being but as far as a head coach not sure if he is better than Kiffin.

He blows Jones and Dooley away though.

Kiffin didn't have the hosses when he was here. He had some undersized twins in his OL and basically a cupboard all but bare. It wasn't the staff so much as it was what he had to work with. That and the USCw-Tennesee hogwash he is reputed to have hauled here. Had he been culture-smart, recruiting ethic-smart, we probably would probably have Saban and Myers both sheeting their pants. Now Pruitt, if he sticks, I think by 2021 we win the SECe if not the SEC outright. The orange storm is indeed gathering its meteorological forces. The distant thunder is drawing closer. The sky is developing an orange tint, sky fire is flashing, and the wind is exhibiting a slowly growing howl. There's a Vols storm coming. It's coming. It's coming. It's coming.

I've heard they're anywhere between 9 and seventeen. That's a good recruiting class nationally. But it's never good to be 7th in your conference. Those are the teams you have to play every year. It's progress but still we have a long ways to go.
That should be good enough to get Tennessee back to 9-10 wins a season;):)

ESPN severely underrated Tennessee's recruiting class:rolleyes:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think ESPN leans heavily on their top 300 players. Therefore, the more you have of them the better your team ranking. I’ve tried to research it, but haven’t found it.

I think Rivals only does the top 20 players in the class, which would eliminate Will in their ranking because he is only a 2 star.

247 composite takes the average of the 3 recruiting services. That’s the one I like the most.

The coaches are probably the best at evaluating talent than any of those services though.

The twins fought hard and almost beat Bama.

B guns was the theme that year though.

The problem with Jones was that the defense never got better. The problems with the OL and the defense were covered up by the fact we had an exceptionally mobile QB that could escape most pass rushers. When you are scoring 40+ a game it doesn't matter as much that the other team is scoring 35+. When Josh Dobbs left, all of that got exposed very quickly for the sham that it was.

Got it, but we all were pumped for that 9 win season. Not many naysayers in year 3. All I'm saying, we pumped him up bc he did recruit players like Dobbs and Hurd. I'm a let's see what happens.

Yeah they did. I thought the theme was "It's Time."
What would you rather have CJP 7th in SEC Class with tons of hidden gems and underrated value or CBJ 2nd in SEC class full of busts and grossly overrated recruits? Or perhaps CDD's recruiting class without any Linemen?

I like sweet peas with corn kernels, rice, finely diced ham, chopped celery, and shrimp. Served with a dash of apple cider vinegar and salted to my taste. All while watching the Vols at war with anyone but especially Bama. I say enjoy without speculation cause it always works for me.

That may be, and speaking only for myself I tend to see things through orange colored glasses, but what I especially like about these interviews I've seen, is that Pruitt seems to always be speaking from the heart. He never seems to have anything really prepared and what he says doesn't sound boilerplate or fake. He comes across as genuine and I really like that. That gives me confidence in him, too.

So if were 9th that means we cant beat 1 thru 8? Damn them recruiting gurus are good!

Upsets happen. And yes you can occasionally be the team ranked higher. The problem is it's not going to happen consistently. If we're going to take that next step and compete for championships, the recruiting will have to get better eventually.
