You mean the same ones that have seemingly stopped CJP from hiring Freeze?Yes, you could...but the real problem was not Kiffin, Dooley, nor Jones. It was the non-football, pencil-necked idiots who actually LACKED the ability to accurately evaluate a man's ability to lead a SEC program as the HC.
The difference in CJP is that he was vetted by CPF--who won a NC as our HC.
Can't help if you just don't get those facts....
I love Pruitt doing it his way and not giving one crap about what the fans think. This won't be a hot take, but the guy is a good leader. I just don't buy that there's no one out there willing to take 1.5 million dollars to coach offense. He'll get it done, and he doesn't feel pressured to do so by the fanbase. Butch would have, Dooley would have, glad he doesn't.
Too much logic. Don't you know that anyone who is hired as a head football coach suddenly de facto becomes perfect in every conceivable way in all his football decisions from that day forward? That's why, even when he hired Randy Sanders and Dave Clawson as offensive coordinators, our current AD was still perfect and right in his thinking. Somewhere, in an alternate universe, both those men are still putting up 100 points a game for the Vols and we just won our 20th straight NC. We plebeian fans are not to question the perfect and unerring ways of our athletic department. It's our job just to fork over our money and shut up, regardless of whether the product at times may slightly resemble well-warmed dog feces. This is your statement:
So you have no clue how a college-level OC search/hire is supposed to be conducted, but you are sure that Pruitt is going about it correctly because he was a good DC, who worked for some successful head coaches?
Forgive me, but I fail to see the logic in your assertions. Especially since being a "good coordinator" is not some sort of guarantee of success as a head coach, a position which requires a different set of skills that is not necessarily attained via working as an offensive or defensive coordinator.
Beat me to it...Just saw this...Canada is moving on after talking to Pruitt...Interesting....Got a feeling we aren't getting either of them.
Very simple logic sir.
1. CJP has had his FB IQ and acumen vetted by at least 3 NC coaches before getting the HC job at UT.
2. CJP has the qualifications to be a HC in the SEC--which means that he has been evaluated by his coaching peers to be qualified to hire an OC.
Once again--exactly what qualifications to you have to accurately evaluate CJP's process? And I'm still awaiting an honest answer to that question.
What is it that keeps you from plainly admitting the obvious? You don't know any more than I do about what process CJP is using or what attributes CJP is looking for in his next OC? All that I do know is that CJP has repeatedly stated his philosophy that "... you cannot win in football at any level if you cannot run the ball..."
Why can't you just answer my questions?
What experience do YOU have in hiring an OC for a SEC football team?
What experience do YOU have coaching football in ANY professional capacity (getting paid for coaching)?
I have none.

This OC search may appear to be a hazardous waste tanker skidding down a runway toward a 747 in mid-takeoff, but in reality it's all unfolding behind the scenes with clocklike precision. We need only wait, and be amazed.
@MikeVol44 admitted that he had no concept of how an OC hiring process is conducted in the SEC. Given his admitted level of ignorance concerning the very nature of the topic, how is he even remotely qualified to state whether or not Pruitt is or isn't effective or capable of properly executing such a process?
How are you, Volnation, or the media qualified to say Pruitt isn't capable of making a great hire? Shouldn't Pruitt be given a chance before judgement? The poster is entitled to his opinion just like you are. Don't act like you have substantial facts to prove anyone wrong. YOU DON'T!!!
If I'm not mistaken we beat that Kentucky team fairly soundly. Hmm.
You wouldnt have the first clue who he has or hasn't interviewed. Most of the media cant even agree on who has been much less who was offered the job.
But that dont stop some from jumping on every name posted here as someone who obviously dont want UTs money because Pruitt is mean.
If I took this as anything other than just plain goofy I'd wonder how he ever completed staff last year and has had only 1 coach leave that group. And hes now a HC.I don't jump on every name I see on here. Unlike most The people on here, I believe it will be an internal hire, he will have to settle.
And no most people won't take the job because hes condescending and meddling. He sure got run off for a quick at Georgia and FSU. But I'm sure that was because of his dazzling personality and his team 1st attitude. Lots of Georgia Players come out against him. If you don't think his sideline antics and his attitude is keeping people away, I really don't know what to say to you then. Orange colored glasses...
What do you mean when you refer to"sideline antics"? I can't think of much out of the ordinary that I've seen Pruitt do.I don't jump on every name I see on here. Unlike most The people on here, I believe it will be an internal hire, he will have to settle.
