Pruitt, shut down social media!!!!

What do you mean by "Care"? Going to games? When is the last time you went? What about you @CA_Vol? Besides getting on VN and screaming Fire the coach, how do you care?

I see so called "good fans" posting that the fans still going to games are sheep and are the reason we are where we are and get lots of likes. Do you think that about the fans that will still go to the games if we're 0-6, 0-7, 0-11 and show up for the Vandy game and Pruitt is still coach?

🚨 REAL FAN ALERT 🚨

Behr, I go to multiple games per year and did so even when I lived in California. Does that answer your question? Am I now a “good fan” by your calculations? Did I pass your purity test? By the way, who the hell nominated you the determiner of what a fan is or should be?

The fans have done their part and for you and others like you to think they are the problem is ridiculous.

I'd actually LOVE to see that said to the Trey's face...... NOW THAT! THAT, would be worth paying for.

!!!!!!!!! That should be the pre-game warm up!!!!
Let all these jerks hiding behind a keyboard say what they want face to face!! That should get some players and the crowd fired up big time!!!

Lol, I'm not a "true fan", never claimed to be. And I never once said any of this was the fans fault. I think its stupid to blame the fans. I also never said anything about what a fan should or shouldn't be.

I made a simple comment that our fanbase wasn't any prize. I just asked some questions so I'd know what " cares" actually meant.

I honestly didn't mean to hurt so many feelers with such a dumb comment.

Go on back to trashing JG and the others. You're awesome!

On a tangentially related note, a few years ago I was invited to participate in a panel discussion with UT journalism students about social media.

I told them to delete their accounts, or at least please be careful about posting personal info because there are a lot of creeps out there, and to refrain from posting stupid stuff they'd regret because it never goes away and would come back to haunt them when applying for a job or whatever in the future.

They looked at me like I was a brain damaged pterodactyl.

I guarantee in 1988 when Tennessee lost to Duke there were players who made similar statements between themselves and maybe even in public to fans. Present day, with the creation of social media those negative thoughts or pure emotion can be shared with millions of people in a second. Does is make any worse if it is said in front of a few people or a million. Its the same thought or feeling.

Shawn Shamburger sees and hears his team being slammed by his own fans, fans of other schools, and national media. I'd be concerned if he didn't have this reaction. It's raw, unfiltered emotion. He is a human like us all and we react when we feel we are put in a corner.

See, we do agree about something. JG is hot garbage too.

Yes, but has Neyland ever been empty and when has attendance last been below 70,000? I agree there are some fans that are by definition "fanatics" but to lump the entire fan base is wrong. How do you expect fans who endured so much over the last decade to react, especially when some pay pretty good money to support the team? I guarantee a blowout win this week and the following will erase any memories of these discussion boards.
It's been below 70,000 before. The last time Vanderbilt played here there were definitely less than 70,000 folks there at kickoff.

We are staying in our place, which means we are paying for that idiot's tuition and free ride. That definitely gives us a say so in the matter. You throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the one that yelps is the one that got hit. Looks like that's Sham...a tamashammockery I'm telling ya.
And how much did you contribute to that "idiots" tuition and "free ride" ?! Exactly. So called adults in their feelings about a tweet.

I don't know, when you say our fans are stupid who are you meaning? Just the ones on VN? When you start making fun of the fans that scream "This is our year" or "We're champions of the off season" who are you talking about?
The ones I reply to..

Dude, you should take a break and calm down, or just stfu. There are a few on that team that are nowhere near weak. Trey Smith says hi.
Already got that dude on ignore.. he just likes stirring the pot and acting childish

Or da
Yeah dude. They just got hosed in what half the media is calling the worst lost in cfb history.

Shamburger needs to learn his OWN place.[/QUOTE

Considering hes one of roughly 100 people that can speak to whats going on inside the locker room, he is in his place.

Fans should absolutely do the same. Stop tweeting players
I did the other day when the kid retweeted a joke about UT paying to get beat and I was so mad I went hound on him but then I felt bad about it, so I went and deleted those tweets. I told myself I would not do that again.

If we don't know what's going on the let us know what the $_#&#&# is going on!

You can obviously tell something IS wrong with this team and the coach. Until they come out and say what actually happened and why everyone looked like they didn't want to be around each other, then people are going to speculate!

So maybe the players should stop getting on social media and start focusing on what's happening on the $_#&# field!

Good grief!

Not always...

It seems to be a weird symptom of our fanbase. I do remeber some fans were hoping for losses to get rid of Butch. Now some fans are all about saying our players suck as a show of support for CJP.
Lol, already blaming the fans? Dont worry vn will hurt recruiting far worse than a georgia st ass whoopin.
LOL, fans are the worst

And I didn't say we were the worst, I just said were weren't a prize.

The second was a direct reply to a single poster, the 3rd was a sarcastic reply to someone blaming fans.....but you make me feel special following me so close.

Wrong!

I made it a point not to respond to you since you've been back posting in the ff, after you got butthurt, but you had to jump in this conversation because it bothered you.

You don't want me responding to your comments to me, stfu. Lol, or at least stop crying about it.

If the players didn't go out there and lay down on the job they wouldn't be getting all this negative feedback. Start winning games or at least start trying and it will go away. I wish these players that get angry at the fans would direct some of that anger at our opponents.

You have no idea what I contribute to my alma mater on a yearly basis because it's exactly "none" of your damn business. And, as a matter of fact, anyone who buys a ticket that contributes to the athletic fund is contributing to that douche bags tuition and room and board. Anymore idiotic ideas from your end? We're all ears for you to defend the product on the field and their hurt feelings.
