Pruitt Show Here

This helps to see the mindset of Pruitt. I like even with the good plays, he always sees a way that needs improvement. For example, on the good play knocking the ball away... Pruitts reply, you need to catch that ball, dont just knock it down, if you can get one hand on it, take two hands and catch it.

What’s up with his arms shaking? I hope it was that he’s just been up for over 24 hours when they recorded it and he’s loaded up on Red Bull.

He can't stand losing. I see only one new fault in what we did verses what West Virginia did.

UT coaches did not appreciate the mental aspect of fatigue. If you compared the heart rates of the WV players to the UT players during that storm, the UT player heart rates likely stayed high from the mental coaching they were receiving. The WV players HR likely dropped to 60 BPM. They recovered.

Probably experience had a role, but someone on the UT side needed to say, "Hey, there's John Candy!"

When you are trying too hard, elapsed time equals fatigue.

The intro to this book explains how they instrumented good and great tennis players and saw no physiological differences while points were being played. Frustrated, they looked at the time between points. HR dropped a lot between points with great players, but stayed high with good players.

This is the least confident set of players this coaching staff has dealt with and they have forgotten.

The next two games should fix it with confidence.

From listening to his take on specific plays , I now understand better how a breakdown from one player can prevent or allow drives/touchdowns on both offense and defense. It makes me feel that the Vols have a lot of upside from yesterday's effort.

I recall from my high school football team days observing the teams attitude before games, regardless of the opponent's record if we were relaxed and acting silly before the game we played much better as a team. The results were not as good If we were uptight and serious attitude before the game.

I’ve said many times on this site having been around family members that coached/played at the highest level they see a completely different game than you and I. They don’t talk about the obvious but the little technique type things that make the difference that we never see.

Especially on his Tim Jordan comments. Even though Jordan made a couple of good runs he actually missed the gap which may resulted in longer gains.

You say our players were all amped up during the delay, but looked to me like they fell half asleep and decided they didn't hardly want to wake back up.

The WV players rested and ate to keep their sugar levels good. The Tennessee players were mentally occupied, it is as if they were playing continuously through the delay - if I understand correctly.

I'm sure the coaching staff will hear about this and adjust for similar situations in the future.

I actually felt bad for Bob K. He seemed to struggle to communicate from CJP. This will improve as the season progresses. CJP did not seem very enthusiastic about his role on the show. I don't want the cheerleader garbage from Butch, but CJP needs to loosen up a little.

I couldn’t help but laugh a little. He doesn’t care to be on a Jeremy Pruitt show. He’s like, “can I just coach”?

Those Farm Credit Insurance commercials are entertaining. Obviously they don't get a lot of air time in Colorado.

They're shaking because he has his hands on his leg(s) and one of his legs is bouncing.

Thought is was kind of funny when Pruit called Bob out for showing the same play over and over.

He is not used to a losing, fantasy mentality with only one good play in four quarters of football.

... The whole coaching staff is used to players with a lot more confidence.

Maybe they can use heart rate in between plays as a false confidence lie detector test...

Or just get people used to their positions to reduce the mental fatigue element of an already fatiguing situation. The Air Raid stuff is built to break defenses down mentally through fatigue.

If you listen to what Pruitt says, if he just does that, he will be fine. Don't know how "used to winning" these players are. How many went undefeated in their final year of high school?

Agree. Pruitt is in a tough spot, first year head coach with a major rebuilding job on his hands. He’s got to learn to relax a bit or this job will eat him alive.
