Fulmer has to make difficult decisions as the AD. You don’t double down on mistakes. You cut your losses and move forward. The next 24 hours will determine what kind of AD that Fulmer will be.
I am not so sure that Phil should be retained either....It is a mess but he should have cut nuts before the hiring of Pruitt and taken the hit then to get it right the first time....Any solution he had was not going to win but just kick the can down the road this hire may cost him dearly...

In a normal world or business situation, yes Fulmer should be fired too. However, he has the ear of the top money guys and most influential people. He is politically connected as well.
We passed on Blackburn and Fulmer was given the job based on political connections.
I fully agree with you though. He should be gone.

Hiring Pruitt was a good decision. It just did not work out. I think Vols should make an offer to Luke Fickell of Cincinnati.

We just completed, statistically, the worse season ever in the history of Tennessee football at .300.
Lets give him another year...

Let it happen today that way it will be overshadowed by the conference title tonight and people talking about the four playoff teams.

Every AD starts off the firing press conference with: ā€This is a results-based businessā€.... Ok.. Can the guy. The results speak for themselves.

I have hung on like a dried bugger. I'm thru with the Pruitt era and 2020. Give me some nose spray!
Why fire him if you don't have a top tier coach in the wings? When you fine the coach, we go thru the same 3 year waiting period to see if they can get things back to winning. You're constantly in a firing Pruitt to hire Butch Jones scenario.
