Pruitt says if he was Offensive Coordinator ...

Wing-t is what you run with undersized linemen. It's more of a misdirection type of offense. Would work great with our current players if the lineman are fast enough.

Not all Wing based Offenses...The one I'm most familar with is a smash mouth off-tackle power play. Like any offense it has misdirection but what makes it go is simply putting more blockers than defenders where the ball is going. It is the definition of power football that can be run with smaller lineman. However I would love to see the big ass atheltes on one team in the SEC run this offense for a couple of years.

I do think CJP qas simply stating he would run it because that's what he knows best not that it is actually what he would run.

Winged T making a little bit of a revival. Let’s just go ahead and jump to the wishbone before bama jumps to it again. I grew up watching death by 1000 cuts every 3rd Saturday in October.

Wishbones ass. That's an Oklahoma thing. I say bring back the Single Wing!!😁

Hey if he wanted to bring back the wishbone I would not have any problem with it...I would just watch it develop and turn into a wrecking machine with a big smile on my face....Just try and stop it

Has he ran anything that worked yet. Uh, he is the head coach right ? Sometimes it is just better to keep your mouth shut and say nothing at all
I would appreciate if you would practice what you preach, " keep your mouth shut and say nothing at all". Your a dime a dozen.

LOL...Pruitt is the head coach. He has the say so now and has had. They can't even take the successful plays from the previous weeks plays and integrate them into the currents week. Its crazy kind of senseless garble. SHOULD HAVE BEEN FINDING WAYS TO GET TY THE BALL LONG AGO. HOW ABOUT THAT WHEEL ROUTE. HOW ABOUT THAT HITCH AND GO. QB can't run the ball so that option is long long gone. Strength was on one side of the field so everyone knew you were running it that way. Switch so many people around in camp nobody knew what to do. Early on you ran on 1st and 2nd down for how many games and then throw on third down. When on earth did they ever try to switch up and throw on first down. Oh but you got to be able to run. Well how did that work out. So finally you just started throwing the ball long and most of the time it was up for grabs. You people need to get a clue. Its been a hodgepodge of an offense all year with no clear direction. The head coach is where it all begins and ends.

Scheme will definitely be an issue even if we start recruiting Alabama/Georgia caliber players unless we also simultaneously slow down modern offenses to a level not yet seen to date. Tua is good but I think he is getting too much credit for Alabama’s offensive success and Saban is getting too little for evolving away from traditional pro style.

This is spot on! The most blatant impact of this is that Offensive line cohesiveness and pass protection responsibility knowledge for the RBs/TE’s was doomed from the start.

The linemen are not tough enough. Too soft for the wing T...and we have too many weapons at receiver.

You do
Butch’s/Debord’s offense included some variations of the wing t using power spread concepts. He also ran the Veer and used a counter trey play quite a bit. Offensive production was much higher than it has been in the past couple of years, so there is that.

Pruitt will never win with the current offensive scheme that can only score 30 points on its best day, but volnation will call for his head if he switches to any offense that doesn’t include a fullback to Telegraph every play.
realize that NFL consists of mostly hybrid pro style offenses. The spread RPO is pretty scarce these days

We've got enough crankiness in this thread to turn a Snickers commercial into a full-length motion picture.

(...and, if it helps anyone, I kept my mouth shut while I was typing)

He was joking. It was obvious. He also said once he called those plays, the game would be over pretty quick. He a defensive man and he knows it. I've noticed that some people don't "get" southern sense of humor. We have a lot of yankees moved into my area. I have learned to temper my offerings. They don't play well.

Great...the insightful wise one has figured out our offensive game shortcomings. I wonder how a man who eats, drinks and sleeps football 24hrs a day hasn't thought of passing on 1st down and get the ball to Ty. Unbelievable. Hope he reads your ideas and informs Helton of your revolutionary offensive strategy

I would like for him to be a defensive coordinator and stop a team in a hurry up offense first.
