Pruitt really liking this team

He said “starting to like”, not “really liking”....bit of a difference. Just saying.

This team finally has a coach first time in a while. Kiffin was the last football coach we had. That year we actually gave Alabama a game. :hi:

They are good today. We won't be able to field a functional team tomorrow. It's all just a motivation tool.

Everybody go ahead and sing Coach Pruitt's praises today. This bunch won't win an SEC game next year. And everybody will be ready to fire him.

This has become a familiar pattern.

Did he say that he is proud of these 85 individuals because they are paying attention to the fine details of winning football? Are they getting 1% better each day? Are they learning how to give 63 effort and play complimentary football?

We will learn very very quickly, I feel, whether Butch Jones was right about all the injuries and players just not executing. Or, he was just a sorry excuse of a coach filled with excuses and blame on others....

My feeling is the latter.....

There's talent here. Not a lot of depth, but we definitely have talent. If we can stay relatively healthy and have decent O & D Line play we can do well this year.

Dude....take a break! You can't lose games until you play them. TN is in good hands with CJP, they will win their share as he rebuilds.

good to hear he likes the team he signed a contract to coach, should have
a good spring practice and can better evaluate the players

It seems when you produce a winner year after year like Saban and Auriemma fans begin to expect a certain amount of poor-mouthing because it sends a signal that the organization is not resting on its laurels. In Tennessee's case, other posters point out that one of Pruitt's jobs is to build up confidence, not tear down arrogance. As a result, his public comments are probably several degrees more positive than his private opinion at this point.
