Pruitt Postgame

Results are all that matter. You guys love his accent...his tough talk...and I don't know what else....but to me he's just all talk. He sounds like a football coach and he says "football-y" things...but at the end of the day he presented a team with ridiculously poor fundamentals...not mentally prepared and at the end of the day gave the Vol faithful a horrific, embarrassing beatdown. So he's a defensive "guru"? We just gave up the most points at home to Florida IN OUR HISTORY.Think about that. A lot of first time coaches are out there every year and don't get beatdown like this. He talks about all the stuff they did wrong...and we know it...cuz we saw it. I don't need a coach in his post game regurgitating everything they did wrong. I don't give a red rats azz that he says "it's on me". Every coach says that. Shoot...at least we had the "Champions of Life" thing with Butch. Lol. Pruitt has given ZERO indication he is anything but some dud coach from a successful program who is waaaaay out of his league. Fulmer should take over as coach if nothing for that he might instill some semblance of pride and dignity to this program. I know that won't happen....just sayin'. I didn't expect the nauseating coachspeak that Pruiitt regurgitates after embarrassing beatdowns like this. I expected a super disappointed coach who would bring some fire...and dare i say "outrage" after humiliating losses like this. But no...it's just the same old blahblahblaha...."we gotta get better and that's on me" BS. I see ZERO indication we are any better off with Pruitt...in fact after today....I fear we may be waaay WORSE off.
Lol

I'm not worried about Pruitt. I guess as fans, we expect a good coach to be able to come in and work miracles. What were we ranked when the season started; 73 maybe 77. That's bad, beyond bad. As one, if not the best fan base, I would love to see us get behind our coach, regardless of the $hit Storm we're sure to witness this year. Let him recruit for a couple of years and give him every opportunity to win. This "quick" talk of removing a "new" coach, in no way is enticing to anyone looking to coach an SEC team. Maybe, just maybe....this quick attitude of Volnation is part to blame for the circumstance we're in. Don't be naive, VN is a force, a factor, and people watch this board. GBO!

I’ve watched Vol football for 40 years. The decline started when UT fired Fulmer. I think most agree with that. The talent last year was dreadful and ANY coach wanting to come to UT is a god send. Pruitt is a good coach, but it will take him 3-4 years to get us back to competitive. He even said that before the season. Relax, support the team and look forward to better days.

Seriously stop with the Fulmer for coach crap. For one he is the one that hired Pruitt. So why does Fulmer get a pass on the hire if you think Pruitt should be gone? Second, Fulmer is the reason we are in this mess. Sick and damn tired of people riding Fulmer's D. He was not this great coach sent down from the heavens. Once Cut left, this program was just hanging on. Fulmer let the best recruiter go to Georgia cause he refused to pay him. He wouldn't play underclassmen to even the detriment of the team. So kids stopped coming.

Don't even get me started on Fulmer ball, you know the playing not to loose crap. Hey we're up 7 in the 1st quarter, let's run the clock out and go home. And anyone with half a brain can't blame Randy Sanders or Dave Clawson fully. Yeah they suck. But it was the same predictable conservative offense. They didn't have full control, Fulmer ran the show. Then we gave the guy MILLIONS as a parting gift and now he slimeballed his way to the AD. What's his name shoulda been gone after that Greg Schiano horse shlt but shouldn't have even been hired in the first place. Blackburn was our best option imo. But as long as we have that slimy oil peddling family pulling the strings we will have to endure this shlt show. The product on the field is second behind revenue and it's been that way for years.

Might as well stop all the fire Pruitt crap. He's here for at least 3 more years barring some scandal. Maybe things can get better? Idk. After seeing a coaching staff quit at halftime during that game, my hopes aren't high. I won't disagree with most however. This is one of the worst coached teams I've seen in a while. Especially Helton. Does he think it's an NCAA rule to run the ball up the gut on first and second downs. Anyway....

Dilly Dilly! Tennessee football has been the pit of misery!

Is appearing some bad decisions were made when hiring for the offensive side of the ball. I don't like turning over the offense to a guy that is inexperienced as the head man. This is one position where you need a seasoned pro. I don't think Pruitt has much to add to offense as well he needed someone that could really manage the offense with competence. Offense is our huge problem right now. Defense looking better still needs work but I see promise with them and Pruitt can help there. On offense Helton seems to be not up to the job and I don't think Pruitt will be a lot of help with solutions. We need some coaches here to get this offense competent to play.

Truly amazing take. Fulmer never let us get to these lows that we are in. On top of it, it’s funny that you’re still blaming Fulmer for things 10 years later and 2.5 senior classes later. Truly amazing there are this many dumb takes out there.

I'm thinking that if Helton is still OC in year 3, JP won't have a year 4.

If Pruitt can get these kids to play loose and not so tense we should be ok. I think he's the right guy for the job and will take time. Anyone watching last year should know this (except for the Ut media that covers the team). I hate ut football has come to this, its gonna be a long rebuild. The quicker he can calm this team down and settle in to games the better.

If Tn had hired Nick Satan himself he would not win with this bunch. I say give him his three before hanging him. You fire the guy now with out a chance you would not be able to hire the waterboy from the local jr high school

I agree and up to Pruitt to get this Helton hire up to the job or replace him now. This can't be accepted beyond this point. Correction immediately or blame goes to Pruitt.

Work miracles? It would have been a miracle to not get absolutely destroyed by a horrific gator team? One that we were only a 4 point dog to? Every Saturday I watch teams that are 3 or 4 point dogs actually beat their opponents, why can Tennessee never muster the gumption to do the same? Heck we can’t even manage to keep from embarrassing ourselves!! This was Florida at home and at night!!! And this is the product that gets put on the field? And your telling me it’s expecting miracles to come out and show some fundamentals and fire? Good lord.

I know I am not the only one here that recognized how bad out team was before yesterday, right? This is a bad football team. It takes more time than 4 games to create a winner. Nobody should be that surprised about this game!

I guess a humiliating loss to FL has a lot of folk feeling nostalgic for the good old days of humiliating losses to FL under Fulmer.

This idiot kicked a dry erase board while having a juvenile hissy fit on national tv. He IS NOT THE damn ANSWER. I want his ass GONE, he is a moron. I hope UGA puts 100 on us next week if it helps getting Pruitt's ass gone.
I generally don't get into the real fan bs, but anybody who makes a statement like this. I'll just leave it at that.
