Pruitt post game conference

Why would he call TO with the clock running and the opposing offense scrambling to get the ball hiked??? That makes no sense. I have no clue what AT was thinking letting the guy run right pass him but I would assume these types of situational football is discussed in practice daily.
It's not like we have a bunch of rocket scientists over there, coaching or playing. Just listen to Pruitt talk and he's nothing more than a Bama redneck that's getting paid millions of $'s. Again, U of T, the school that makes bad, unproven coaches multi millionaires

We keep trying to hire someone that has either never been a head coach or has coached at a lower level. We have never once decided to go all out to get someone that has a proven track record. We did in basketball with Barnes but in football for a decade now we keep hoping and up and comer will be the answer. I think we could've hired Leach or Les Miles both proven winners but again we went for the flavor of the month. Doesn't look like he is the answer and so this season and another before we again go back to square one and start all over again. So who will be next to join the Dooley, Jones, Pruitt parade.

Just mind boggling we have fans that still want to keep him.

The longer he’s here, the worse it’s going to get.

Hell, we’re not even in SEC play yet and it’s already a nightmare.

That’s the thing that’s most perplexing. How can a staff with this pedigree be so bad at teaching their players to just like the F up correctly? They literally have no clue on defense how to even line up.

And then, there’s Guarantano who’s clearly regressed under Chaney’s tutelage. Wth is going on there? We had to playcall around him late and it allowed to the defense to just tee off on our predictable run game.

Jesus, what a waste of a ton of money Chaney and Ansley are.
I don't think JG is regressing, I think that the improved line play is just making his decision making problems more evident.

I think this is true. Remember, his “strength” last season was lack of interceptions. Probably because he got sacked when he held the ball too long. This season, he is getting that extra second that allows him to (finally) throw the ball and it is showing how late he is on his reads.

The bottom line issue is that he doesn’t anticipate anything—whether it be a blitz, an open receiver or whatever. It has to unfold and be obvious before he acts. So, instead of delivering the ball to a receiver as they come out of the break, he waits until there is a yard or two of obvious separation. The problem with that is that it allows the defense to recover and the lanes are always closing.

I think he caress about winning and he brought in what on paper is a great staff. I am sure he is up there thinking what the F can I say?

Now we lost to two lesser talented teams. One can be a fluke or a mistake....but two is a trend of bad coaching.

Part of coaching is getting the best players out there and right now JG isn’t the best. Too many open plays missed.

Pruitt needs to make some changes quickly....there is talent on the team.

Does it bother anyone else that he said that there were some guys playing hard. What about the rest of them? He better say something about piss poor quarterback play and that there could have easily been 4 interceptions in this game and two of them wound up being touchdowns for us.

I thought the majority of the team played hard. It was at least a huge improvement over Georgia State. Effort was not the issue, execution was.

Not really mind boggling the best players on the field are his recruits most of which are freshman, unfortunately there's not enough of them, I still believe once he gets enough of his guys in things will turn around, but most importantly the buyout. We're still paying Butch, no way we'll have 2 fired coaches plus staffs and pay a whole new coaching staff can't do that. Then if you do fire them who in their right mind would take the job? As bad as it sucks pruitt needs time to get guys in once that happens if there's no sign of improvement then everyone will know but I honestly believe once he gets some horses things will get much better

Phil is about to pull a Barry Alvarez here.
Only problem is phil will not win many games either as he will be stuck with this sorry ass qb who is making same mistakes that he has made for the past three years and we go blank at the end of regulation with busted coverage and missed tackle. Pitiful man.

BYU took 20 seconds to get the play off after the QB was tackled after he scrambled from the pocket making it 3rd and 6. It's no way anyone calling timeout during that situation. You not only stop the clock but increase their chances to pick up the 3rd and 6. We ran a cover 3 zone and Taylor did not do his job! Period. Again, no sure what the kid could be thinking but his responsiblity was that 3rd of the field and no by no means you let anyone run pass your face. Maybe Cover 4 would have been a better play call but the playcall and decision to allow them to burn 20 seconds off the clock their 20 yard line was the right one. Piss poor execution by the player at that point. Wouldn't hurt if Warrior makes that tackle either.
I would just have liked to have seen the TO taken there. Why take it with you? And even if he did pick up the first down the clock would have expired for sure with that scenario. I guess as fans we all see different situations we would like to see play out. It's over now though we have what we have and seems to be no way to fix it any time soon.

Regressed? He has always been this bad. He has always starred down every receiver and thrown a late fastball to them. Toughness has been his biggest attribute.

I hope I'm wrong, but I see Pruitt sleepwalking through the rest of this season and maybe one more before Fulmer pulls the plug on him, then it's back to another coach hiring fiasco.

True enough but one of the problems early on (ie 10 yrs ago) is those elite coaches were perceived to be too expensive with Fulmer’s buyout. Whiff. Then we had a complete Harvey Milktoast for an AD who thought he could find a coach in the bargain bin. whiff. Then an AD with one foot in retirement the other in Alabama. Strike three. And now...no high profile coach would want to risk it all with this convoluted mess. When’s basketball season?

He bothered me from the start

"That was a good football game..."

Not for anyone who is a fan of UT you Jack wagon! Just send your orange gear to the kid in Florida and start driving South. You'll know when you reach bama by the smell
The indifference is amazing. Guess that's what we get when he hire a Bama choir boy.
