Pruitt post game conference

Coaches need to start holding these kids accountable. They come in, just do enough for a scholarship and coast through college. Then they go to the combine, perform well enough to make it on a NFL roster. They have it made, everything is given to them instead of them earning it. They know that UT will spend whatever necessary to win.
I’d say that all starting positions are up for grabs and yank scholarships from those that aren’t contributing. It’s time to be stern. Same for the coaches. I don’t care if we are down to 11 players and playing “Ironman” style on both sides. At least you’d have 11 players that give a d@mn.

But until the staff grows a pair....

How come every QB we play against is better than our's??? When you can not trust your QB to make good decisions in the passing game so that your play calling looks like crap, replace the damn QB!

Exactly the point. If he is not even mentioning QB play or better yet opening up the position this week in practice, then there is something very wrong.

I just don’t think he wants to be here. I don't think he had a clue what he was getting into here, he just saw the $. His lack of emotion/lackadaisical attitude is hard to take
Looked to me like he was chewing asses on the sideline. Good game minus ****** QB play and a busted coverage at the end. I don't know what the hell you were watching. With exception of busted coverage much better effort by the defense.

Does it bother anyone else that he said that there were some guys playing hard. What about the rest of them? He better say something about piss poor quarterback play and that there could have easily been 4 interceptions in this game and two of them wound up being touchdowns for us.

He said it twice in the radio interview.

"A lot of guys played hard"

Is as pitiful as

"Life champions"

I could play hard, that doesn't mean I should be on the field.

There is a lot to criticize but I saw a lot of emotion from him. In the first game, I think this criticism was justified. He was extremely animated from what I saw all game. This doesn't mean he's doing a good job or coaching well but what you are saying doesn't come from someone who was watching him.

I was watching him and he may have been more animated during this game. I still feel a lack of emotion and a detached attitude.

Fulmer right there looks like he's thinking "I can't believe I hired that bammer!"

It bothers me the coaching needs as much improvement as the players
That’s the thing that’s most perplexing. How can a staff with this pedigree be so bad at teaching their players to just like the F up correctly? They literally have no clue on defense how to even line up.

And then, there’s Guarantano who’s clearly regressed under Chaney’s tutelage. Wth is going on there? We had to playcall around him late and it allowed to the defense to just tee off on our predictable run game.

Jesus, what a waste of a ton of money Chaney and Ansley are.

This dude had a TO in his pocket and instead of taking it and getting his young D set up he took it on the FG try. SMH Defensive genius at work.

Why would he call TO with the clock running and the opposing offense scrambling to get the ball hiked??? That makes no sense. I have no clue what AT was thinking letting the guy run right pass him but I would assume these types of situational football is discussed in practice daily.

Emotion was better. Team played mich much harder. There were sparks of playing well mixed with some that wasn’t playcalling was not to lose rather than go win. I mean I assume he wants to put players in best position to win - but damn have confidence enough to let then run some plays - then if they screw up ok. The whole last quarter was a wasted opportunity to put the game away and went stone cold predictable and then how can we run a sweep to strong side when Greg Mcilroy is seeing every play - you know the opposition is - no wonder they can’t make plays. Became way too predictable. Have enough confidence in the team to give them a shot at some openings in the defense rather than having to run over it every time.
Coaching calls lost this game. And preparation of players. Not talent nor effort tonight. Can’t say that about week 1, that was on everyone. My thoughts only. They have a chance to get better. They won’t be great, they may not be good, but they can win a few games if you put them in chance to make plays which the opposition isn’t setting their waiting on!

I do t necessarily think it will be for an extended amount of time but I have a feeling Fulmer will end up coaching this team.

They had problems all night with the D getting set, my thought is make sure they are in the right D and stress no run bye's. This type of play has happened to many times in the past against UT.
