Pruitt on Maurer

That makes NO SENSE.
Wish he had simply said..."Brian's condition made it difficult to put him in a meaningless game. We'd rather give him as much time off the field as possible going into the last REAL games this season"
He doesn’t want Kentucky to know who period.

Time we accept that no matter how bad he plays or how injured he is, JG is Pruitt's QB.

When he started the move to the freshmen QBs I started thinking we had a coach that might build a program.
But for what ever reason he played an injured JG, who, in my opinion is the reason for our problems last year and this year.
My guess is he is trying to salvage the season but again the reason the season sucks is because of JG.
I give Pruitt one more season.

The most popular player on any football team is always the backup quarterback.

This is and has always been true. I can remember when folks wanted the other QB's to play instead of Dobbs. I bet if social media had been what it is today back with Manning was the QB, there would be folks lauding the backup QB then as well.

Well, OK. But here's where I am. I don't know if Maurer or Shrout are or can become the answer for UT. I am convinced that absent significant and sudden improvement in things that are really difficult to improve... JG isn't the answer.

If his decisions and throws are the same next week as this past Saturday... UK is going to win. UT isn't likely to stifle their O like they did UAB. Their D is going to match up better athletically than UAB's D did.

JG is still late and short on deep throws. He takes too long to make decisions and get the ball out. Essentially you have the same guy who played badly against GSU surrounded by a better team.

Yep, that’s exactly what Belichick would have said.

but what would have Ed Orgeron said? And would anybody have been able to understand?
I love to see Ed do one of those quick sideline interviews at the half...no one has a clue what he says...

From what I understand, coaches are not allowed to go into medical details regarding college players. I doubt Pruitt would answer the question directly.
There are Hippa laws? But most coaches (other than the Saban tree) that at least give a general area of the body and how long they will probably be out.

He’s right, JG made mistakes but his OL did him absolutely no favors either.

The game was never in doubt and we doubled the spread. So why are we whining so damn much?[/QUOTE]
Because of the interception in the end zone, the stalled drives that kept us at 30 instead of 60. They turned it over 4 or 5 times giving us that many more opportunities. And because we remember GA St., BYU, Vandy and Mizzou
From last year.
It’s not whining, it’s asking legit questions raised from legitimate concerns

I think more importantly is the call to yank Shrout because of a bad incompletion not an interception in the red zone. But I will defer to the coaches. They have had the team playing much better of late

Didn't need Maurer for the UAB game. Need his for the last 3 SEC games.

Just hope Maurer can stay healthy and start and finish a complete game. I’m concerned for the young man if he truly had two concussions.

IMO he is starting JT to appease the fans and not have anyone boo a player. Then I think Pruitt still thinks JG is the best qb we have even though his play on the field proves that to be wrong.
His excuse last night for pulling JT after one series was “ he threw into double coverage on third down”. I was at the game and Can not count on two hands how many time JG did the same thing and never got pulled so that is bs.
I really think Pruitt is trying to finish the season with JG at the helm if he can. So that BM and JT don’t look like a good option to start next year so that he can keep the incoming recruit at qb and not scare him away with a possible qb controversy. Once the paper is signed he will be open to the best man for the job next year. Jmo.

We were playing better because jg lost starting qb role. Afraid we will go bac to how we were when jg started the games ol already did sat night.

I would have lost a little respect for Pruitt if he referred to it as a "meaningless game". And I would definitely expect UAB fans to lose respect for TN as a whole if we called it that. It's just uncalled for.

But I thought he lies?
Well for what it’s worth he claimed post game that Maurer didn’t get enough reps to be ready. But must have forgotten the day before being quoted saying JTS got around 50% of the snaps throughout the week to Maurers 40% to JGs 10%.

Not saying he lies but can’t claim he seems to tell the whole truth either.

Wasn't my point, but it doesn't really matter anyway.

I don't pay attention to what is said by coach, I never have. What difference does it make anyway? I mean, look at your last sentence. Lol, wgaf? I'd love to think he made that crap up just to mess with peoples heads, like yours.

Jmo, but someone needs to get a life if this stuff is that big of a deal to you.

Just putting myself in the players or their families shoes. Just not a good look

I'll never understand this. I'd bet they all know what he's saying and why he's saying it, but I obviously don't know and really don't care, so carry on.

Well, he obviously can’t say what you wish he’d have said.....so he said it in coach speak. Read between the lines.

No, you’re making up scenarios that fit your opinion. Beyond presumptive and a little arrogant to believe that the players and their families are thinning like you are right now.

If that's the case I have no problem with shrout playing but still have a problem with jg playing almost the whole game.
We won, beat the spread, and defense played their best game of the year. I think CP call the shots about as good as they could have been called.
