One of Maurer's assets is his running ability and with his injuries it takes that out now or makes it risky. He can Throw but has made bad choices like the other 2 did. It just to me seemed he brought life to the team and started this momentum the team is on.
That makes NO SENSE.
Wish he had simply said..."Brian's condition made it difficult to put him in a meaningless game. We'd rather give him as much time off the field as possible going into the last REAL games this season"
I think the main thing people like about BM is that he's not JG. I certainly think he has potential but you'd think he's the next Manning the way people talk about him. Based on the below sample size (which is admittedly too small and too early) I can't understand why we're all so torn up about him playing. Aside from UGA, I wouldn't say he's played really well.
UTC 0-2 0TD 0 INT
UF 4-11 0TD 1INT
UGA 15-28 2 TD 1 INT
MSU 4-7 0 TD 2 INT
Bama 4-7 0 TD 1 INT
Again, I'm not down on him but I'm not sure we beat UAB by any more than we did if he plays.
Pruitt is still learning how to be a head coach off the field in terms of media and PR. I’ve come to expect it. As long as we win the game, it’s an irritation and not an issue. I don’t think for one minute that Pruitt will stick with JG if we go down early over our remaining games.
Spot on...Why put in a QB coming off concussion protocol in a game that was never in doubt and risk losing him for good down the stretch. Pruitt should do the same thing next week as well, let JG and JT handle the game and only put BM in if the game is not going well.We didn't need him. If we'd needed him, I am sure CJP would've inserted him. The defense was playing very well, and UAB helped, a ton, by turning it over, often. Let Mauer rest.
I agree.
Maurer has a ton of potential, but he's not actually played that well except for brief spurts. He has 5 INTs on 55 passes which is terrible.. Once he learns to make better decisions with the ball, he could be a Josh Dobbs like talent, but he's not there yet.
JG hasn't played great this season, but he's still the least likely QB on our roster to give the game away with bad turnovers. And given how dominant our defense has been lately, that's a pretty good argument for playing JG.
Who is whining? It was reported all week Maurer was practicing and ready to go. He didn't play last night and people were wondering why we only saw 2 QBs. Pruitt answered that, it wasn't posted anywhere so I posted it. There was nothing about this bashing JG. Some people are just so insecure about that kid any QB talk that doesn't involve him anymore is now whining and bashing him? He’s right, JG made mistakes but his OL did him absolutely no favors either.
The game was never in doubt and we doubled the spread. So why are we whining so damn much?
That makes NO SENSE.

He's played in 4 games exactly. No redshirt if he takes anymore snaps this year. I'd like to think he's gonna be the starter the rest of the season. He really needs to start hitting the ground before contact to preserve his body.Has he played in more than 4 games? If not I don’t think we will see him again and he will redshirt
Never mind. Just did the math. He’s played in 5
