Pruitt on Maurer

That makes NO SENSE.
Wish he had simply said..."Brian's condition made it difficult to put him in a meaningless game. We'd rather give him as much time off the field as possible going into the last REAL games this season"
Yeah the way he worded it made it seem as if they've given up on Maurer but we know Pruitt isn't polished in press conferences and he's learning on the fly in that department

Pruitt is definitely no wordsmith but he’s also not dumb enough to call any game on the schedule “meaningless” in public. 🙄

Edit: After the GSU game, to say/think any game is meaningless is well...... not smart.

If he had said what he was thinking, it would have likely been, "Why risk his health in a meaningless SEASON, when he might help us win a championship in the future?"

It was a cornbread rash that affected his ability to speak properly.

Pruitt is still learning how to be a head coach off the field in terms of media and PR. I’ve come to expect it. As long as we win the game, it’s an irritation and not an issue. I don’t think for one minute that Pruitt will stick with JG if we go down early over our remaining games.

That statement would put a target on Maurer's back for KY and Missouri. What are to 2 personal fouls in one game going to accomplish, taking Maurer out and QB next up.

CJP was not going to make that statement. Also, it states we can't win the game without BM. Maybe the truth but the target on the back for this game is not worth it.

Kentucky with an additional week to prepare at least this scenario keeps them honest, plus it gives Maurer another week of rest.
