Ive never heard a first year coach jump on fans before the Spring semester is even over. Easpecially a coach that was offered the job after the likes of Dave Doeren declined.
Who in the world spends hundreds of dollars to attend the Spring game unless they live more than 5 hours away and stay in a hotel. In which case, I'd retort that those fans are definitely in the minority. For most, the only cost will be gas money and food along the way. Most fans going to the game probably live within an hour of Neyland.
This fanbase has been more than faithful, so yeah Pruitt needs to shut up and focus on the product on the field. I spend several hundred each time i come to knoxville for a spring game. It cost me over 1000 to attend a regular season game. On my drive in, i run into tons of vols fans headed to the game. So yeah, lost of people drive a long way to games and spend alot of money doing so.
I would question a fans loyalty if going and watching them play (even if it is a spring game) would be considered wasting a day. It was a beautiful day to watch some football
Way to try and move the goal posts. No one expects fans that live more than an hour or 2 outside of Neyland to go to the Spring Game. For whatever reason, a majority of Vol fans living inside that radius decided not to go. I'd be willing to bet that a vast majority spend under $40 to attend the Spring Game with their entire family. Can't even go to the movies for that. This fanbase has been more than faithful, so yeah Pruitt needs to shut up and focus on the product on the field. So you are the deciding metric for what constitutes a "real fan?" I'll let my parents know who have had season tickets for decades, and are alums and donors, but didn't go today that you deemed them not worthy of being "real fans"
Im shocked there are this many people who are butthurt. Funny thing is that they completely missed the part where Pruitt mentions that people had legitimate reasons for not being here.
Regardless, it doesnt matter. He doesnt decide that and should shut up and coach football. This fanbases has more than supported this team through a decade of straight trash football. The individual fans get to decide what they want to do. So thank the 65k that showed up and leave it at that.Way to try and move the goal posts. I'm sorry you don't have reading comprehension but what I said was if you consider watching your favorite team a waste of a day I would question your loyalty. Not saying that just because you didn't go means you aren't a real fan.

Right or wrong, how about you win a damn football game before you start talking sh!t to fans. If Fulmer said it post game, i'd be totally fine with it and probably agree. The new head coach that hasn't coached a game yet and has yet to convince me he's anything more than a d-coordinator? stfu. I've heard enough out of coaches mouths for the past 10 years, i'm not taking crap from a lifelong bama fan who seems dumber than pile of bricks in every aspect except for football. S H E E S H
I read it. The ONLY thing that should have come out of his gaping, cornbread eating maw in regards to the fans was "I'd like to thank our incredible fans for a terrific turnout."
Did you read the first part of his comment? That some fans were here and did great?
Youre taking this way too personally. This is literally a one liner and youre way too emotional about it.
You should probably take a break from the board and come back when youve gotten some perspective of what Coach Pruitt was really trying to say.
I love when people preach accountability and then can't handle it when they get called out. Vol Fans weren't quite up to par today and were rightfully mentioned. Even if you agree with the 65k number, there was no enthusiasm at all. Fans have been there for the most part of the last 10 years, but weren't up to it today and deserve to be called out. Once again, we remain pretty entitled for a fan base that is pretty damn lucky to have a coach of Pruitt's caliber.Regardless, it doesnt matter.
