Wow! I like the accept the challenge that JP has and wants to be the best and also realize that a new head coach is going to make mistakes. Let's hope he learns from all the ones he will make and take us to the promise land. We will find out.

I agree with Jeremy. I was shocked there wasn't 100k there. This is Tennessee, not Clemson, not Oregon, not Auburn, not FSU. We should be embarrassed. Finally a coach that is similar to myself and not afraid.

Aren't you the same guy who said we would beat Bama this year? You must be into Ainge's drugs again. Hell we are not in the same class as any of those teams you mentioned. You are allowed an opinion again when we sweep Vandy, Kentucky and South Carolina in the same year, which isn't happening for a while

“Our fans today were like our football team. Some were here and doing great, some weren’t here for legitimate reasons, and some should have been here and weren’t. That sounds just like our team.”

Strong talk for a guy who was our 6th choice.

You talk as if we the fans somehow were part of the problem when the complete opposite has been true for 10 years. Tennessee fans have ALWAYS done their part! I get why Pruitt would call out the players but we don't deserve it. Top 5 attended spring game in the nation...after the worst season in program HISTORY! Yeah, shame on us (rolls eyes).

That’s not what I mean at all . What I want is a football team that’s feared again and CJP is a diehard football coach that wants to win and push the kids to win . The man has 5 Natty rings ( that’s one for each finger) do we or have we had anybody else with anything close to that wanting to teach our kids to be winners ? I’m just saying let’s not be so fragile and maybe roll with what he thinks .

Makes me sick that UGA is above us in aything. We own them in every category except Heisman winners.

"Here is why I came. I want to challenge everyone that is associated with the University of Tennessee. I'm going to tell you this, you didn't draft me. I chose to be here. I told the players today that they chose to sign with the University of Tennessee. With what we want and where we want to go, we are talking about championships. Instead of us talking about what we want, let's talk about how to get there. It's going to take everyone that is associated with this university. Everyone from the people that work in administration, to the people that work in maintenance. How do we get there? It's about positive energy. It's about being all in. When people come to this campus, it has to be contagious. It has to get them to think that they want to be a part of it. That's what it starts with. When we get on the road recruiting, everyone is going to be excited. My goal is five years from now when I stand back up here, is for everyone to still be this excited. That's my goal. I'm challenging everybody who is associated with this university. Let's get our hands out of our pockets. Let's roll our sleeves up. Let's get ready to get in the streets with everyone else in the SEC. That's what we have to do to be successful. If we want to get what we want, we have to outwork everyone. Let's not talk about it. Let's go do it. It starts today. Everyone associated with it, let's get ready to go get what we want."

Those getting on coach PrHitt need to shut up. He is a tough nut and from the look today he needs to be. That defensive show was puke. I am glad the boot got on his teammates. Just became my favorite Vol.

Maybe he should have put a little effort into fan attendance then.

You may be right.
I've never needed to be convinced and I know you were there also but others may need more of a reason.

Just all the posts on here about "I'll go when the dog and pony show ends and we have a real spring game again" seem a little bs though.

I thought the attendance was good but at the same time, I like that Pruitt doesn't think good is good enough on any part.

Fans don’t get paid millions like you there Coach. Do your job. If you were honestly expecting 102k, you’re delusional. (Yes I’m talking to Coach bc you know he reads VN)

Hoe about we just allow everyone to have and express their own opinion on an open message board? Im no big time donor, but ive spent no less than 15k attending games over the last 10 years watching crap football. Fans are allowed to be skeptical of a rookie head coach and can choise not to send several hundred dollars attending a spring game if they choose. This fanbase has been more than faithful, now its up to Pruitt and Co. to hold up there end of the bargain. So put a better product on the field.

More than a million people live in the Knoxville area alone. No excuse as to why 102,455 couldn't show

This may be a shock to you, but there may not be 100,000 people here that are willing to put up with the hassle of going to a practice. On game day I would wager that more than half of our crowd comes from outside of Knoxville. Plus, nothing was on the line, this team isn't winning anything, its a beautiful day, there are a million things going on in the city....Why waste a day?

Who in the world spends hundreds of dollars to attend the Spring game unless they live more than 5 hours away and stay in a hotel. In which case, I'd retort that those fans are definitely in the minority. For most, the only cost will be gas money and food along the way. Most fans going to the game probably live within an hour of Neyland.

I drive up highway 72 (alabama) and I75 ti get to each game. I can gaurantee you a large portion of each crowd comes from out of town to go to games.

I wasn’t offended. I like that he expects and demands the best even from the fans. I think some “us against the world” is good for a team. Win the east if you want to see 100k next year. Attendance will come with wins whether he offends anyone or not.

I would question a fans loyalty if going and watching them play (even if it is a spring game) would be considered wasting a day. It was a beautiful day to watch some football
