Never said it was the same, Mr. Reading Comprehension. You imply Hugh Freeze is redeemed and Briles is not is the difference.

Freeze is still coaching at the college level, Briles is not.

Big Universities aren’t going to take chances on a guy like Briles after being involved in a rape scandal.

Even so, he’ll never be considered here.

Briles' big knock he is 65 y/o.
Either hire invites a rectal probe from the NCAA. UTK would never get away with things like Aubby and other schools skate through.
Freeze was hired by people who preach their righteousness, but want a winning program at any cost (Baylor was in a similar situation with Briles, but that is not really the point I am making). He found a safe haven. He would be a fool to leave it. I know he wants to return to the SEC, but he would be better off staying there. The NCAA doesn't give two craps about Liberty recruiting and new cars.

We all want a winner, and, man, it is stressing us all to feel closer to it, and still not winning.

I think Freeze might be a coaching upgrade. I just think he places us only back to the middle of the pack in the SEC. I doubt he is upgrade enough.
Look what Drinkwitz is doing with far less talent. He was on hands and knees wanting to coach here. I feel like he makes more sense than Freeze. Hell, Gus beats Saban too.
We are going to have to play the next few years perfectly as a program or we will fail.

Why? He’s a solid coach and was the scapegoat for all the stuff that went down at Baylor...

Ken Starr was there. And was quietly forced to step aside in the aftermath. Need I say more?

For those who cannot connect the dots, any improper moves Briles did? If any? Could it have been at the bidding of a higher up? Like the then university president via the AD, who was also fired. If the puppet does something bad during the show, blame the guys pulling the strings.

Oh, you beat me to that JMS. My bad.

And with all.of this noise at Baylor about. The rapes.and coverups,we have the venerable and pious Ken Starr as.chancellor at Baylor who stated that was.nothing going on.

If Pruitt would let his coordinators manage the game rather than him micro manage every aspect I think we are a very different program and we wouldn’t need to be speculating and playing what if. His ego is more the downfall of his tenure here than his coaching ability in my opinion.

I don't think any hire can help Pruitt because I can now see that he is the problem. Also, I don't want Briles anywhere near campus. You can't reject the Schiano hire on moral grounds and then want that guy.

Since the University doesn’t have the stones to push its chips in on a proven winner, I say we fans just continue sleepwalking with Fulmer and watch the rest of the SEC pass us by.

I don't want Art Briles touching this program with a 10 ft pole.
Briles was a scapegoat. He was given a letter from Baylor stating that he did nothing wrong and followed all applicable policies and laws. He just happened to be the head coach and paid for it.
