Pruitt losing the team....

When players start fighting each other on the sideline you have a huge problem and anyone could have seen it coming. That is everyone other than the head coach apparently.
Jarrett Guarantano, Brandon Johnson separated by coaches after failed fourth down
Did you even read the article? Things got heated - ok, good. Shows they care. But then "Guarantano went back up to him and calmed things down. The two had a pretty long, measured conversation about the play." Nothing to see here.. especially not that "Pruitt is losing the team." Good grief.

I disagree. A coach has lost the team when apathy has set in. Anger and frustration are to be expected, not to mention the fact that these are two seniors that will likely be gone next year.

See: 2011 Tennessee vs. Kentucky game. Team couldn't have cared less about extending the streak or fighting to earn a bowl bid. I recall Bray sitting on the bench and his #8 looked like #0, which was fitting. Dooley had lost that team.

Really? With the bye week and schedule softening, it seems the perfect opportunity to audition the remaining QBs for next year.[/QUOTE]
Absolutely right! But do you really think CJP will? I don’t!
99% of the players, other coaches and fans probably think so too, but that won’t matter.

What I read from it is that there is at least one skill player that is showing his frustration with the current stating QB. If he did this in a public environment, how many others are feeling this as well?

If we have several who are frustrated by JG, then coaches could be impacted inside the locker room.

Obviously, there are some issues in the locker room and combine the incident on the sidelines with HT tweet, something is up.

If he had a disaster of a game against Bama I could see it. But he didn't. I'm convinced he is the starter until he isn't.

I hear you. I hope he lost the job vs UK and it was only logical to make the change during the bye week. Especially if you go with HB, you wouldn't want to sacrifice him to Bama as a true freshman.

I do know that there was a third down situation where JG threw an absolute rocket from about 6 yards away from the receiver and it was completely uncatchable. i believe it was behind the receiver and way too hot for anyone NFL or otherwise to catch. If I was the receiver I would be
asking my quarterback to give me something slightly more catchable.

I do not believe the schedule is softening. We still have to play 2 top 10 teams as well as Auburn and Arky on the road. The first 5 games should have been easier.

Don't blame him, Guarantano missed him badly. Easy throw for most quarterbacks. Just another missed 3rd and 4th down opportunity. Those are stacking up for Guarantano.
He is already giving the guy close to 0 tape for NFL scouts then had the nerve to throw a horrible pass on 4th down smdh. Im suprised Johnson & Palmer havent slapped his face off yet.

"Coach XXX has lost the team" is the most overused tripe on here. There are probably a handful of posters here who have any real sense of the locker room and how the team is doing. Guys get after each other in this game. They push, they disagree they even fight sometimes. Not ideal as it typically doesn't happen when things are going well but it does show that they care.

As others have said it's a sign they are still in this, not the opposite.
