Pruitt just self inflicted a QB controversy

I know it was mop up duty to an extent but Shrout looked good, made good throws, seemed in command, pulled the ball down and picked up yard with his legs when he needed to and delivered us two touchdowns to boot, he's gotta get the start next week with Bailey ready to come in if this was a fluke.
Vandy quit for the season - no game next week

Shrout’s better right now than HB, better arm, play book was open for him... we kept hearing that Chaney liked TS now we know why, quick decisions, release, some legs and really good arm!

Even the CBS guys were questioning why Shrout when you should stay with HB and continue to build confidence.

Just tells me Pruitt has no confidence in Cheney, this team, or himself.

When the commentators say we have the team talent to compete with teams like Florida that is a sly, direct indictment on the coaching staff.

Great job coach.

Now Bailey is questioning himself and Shrout will feel he deserves a shot too and Maurer is 2 for 2 I believe and probably straight pissed and JG will probably start next week.

Brilliant job pulling Bailey.

Just brilliant!!!!
Don’t care who the QB is. Until someone earns it they all should be on their toes. JT looked better than probably anyone this year...granted limited time and mop up duty

My only guess is Pruitt wants all returning QBs to know the starting job isn’t guaranteed to anyone.

But it was odd for Pruitt to pull Bailey when he wasn’t making game changing mistakes.

He wasn’t making mistakes but he wasn’t moving the ball that great either. He played ok and he got some meaningful reps.

boy, JT Shrout got some haters!

the only controversy even worth discussing is JT Shrout vs Harrison Bailey. Anyone else at the position could transfer and we'd be beyond fine!

JT Shrout sure reminds me of Tyler Bray...for better or for worse. His arm appears far superior to Bailey's but I can't speak beyond that except this one thing: No way in hell he's got a torn labrum.

I don't know who's the better QB. That's for the coaches to decide and they're not doing a good job of that

He confused the broadcasters because he told them Shrout had a torn labrum and Maurer had a pulled hamstrings. Said those injuries were the reason Bailey was starting.

Shrout throws the ball much better. Fire away but it’s the truth.
I gotta say the arm strength is certainly in question in comparison to the others...... and that opinion includes JG.

And all with a freshly torn labrum
