Just listened to his Bama press conference. He did a great job of balancing responsibility of Bama for game and UT...along with a non-descript brown suit, w/ no bama or ut colors. I listen to him talk and think "football coach". No corny quotes, but just plain football talk. I think we've got a good one.

Nobody can doubt him as a X&O's guy. One of the best in the game.

Early returns building a staff are promising.getting great recruiters & position coaches.

Fulmer as the athletic director, is just as if not more important to Pruitt & Tennessee's future success.

He's a Tier-1 Elite level coach in many many facets, this is fact. In my opinion, which ain't much, there's very few non-HC's in the college game who can stand toe-to-toe with him---and if you slide the UT culture 'fit', I'm not sure there's anyone better if comparing apples-to-apples.

His primary weakness, per se, is he's never been an HC ...he'll be fine, gotta get in the ring and get his nose bloodied, but he'll make it just fine as he bumps along that road.

If he's the real deal, and if nobody can doubt his x's and O's, he will win at least 7 games next year IMO.

This roster has the talent to win 7 imo, looking at the schedule

Yep. Love it... Get in line with dozens of players who've said the same message publicly about CJP. What players think about a coach matters BIG LEAGUE... ask VFL Al Wilson, he'll tell you it's the MOST IMPORTANT characteristic-question in a coach...will players run thru a wall for ya'? From what I've heard about CJP, 100% have, do and will.

If Bama and I think they will, watch and listen to the Bama crowd place 100% of the loss on Pruitt. Will have nothing to do with Hurts not being able to throw an accurate ball 15 yards downfield. It's a no win for Pruitt.

Don't post much, but am on here everyday . . . One thing, people are mentioning all over, "he's never been a head coach".

True, but something to also consider - he was raised by a head coach - think all those years watching his Dad will be valuable as he, all the coaches & support staff, and the players, bring this program back into national prominence.

GBO!

Was watching Paul Finebaum show the other day. One thing they did bring up was the reason they didnt carry too many Tennessee coach press conference, was because once you seen one of them you have see all of them. They even got tired of that Butch Jones corny quotes.

That’s the Bama way, but that’s alright. He’s a Vol now and that gets under their skin, so I’m all for it.

I agree. I think they would have been a better team this year had that freshman played more. I wouldn't be surprised if he beats Hurts out for 2018.

Good character matters and this man seems to have it. If given enough time I believe this man will do very well here. I hope he's our coach for the next 20 years, which would means he's very successful.

Derek Dooley says hello. In all seriousness I think Pruitt is a good fit here. Got to love his recruiting prowess, his defensive philosophy, and the staff he's assembling around him. I'm especially excited about Helton. But there will certainly be a learning curve for a new coach. I just hope he has better in game awareness than Butch, that bar is pretty darn low!

For Pruitt it's about the players and making a difference in their lives. It doesn't matter where he's coaching. It's a lifetime friendship, not just 4 years. He's committed to the Vol players and recruits, that's all that matters. It doesn't matter where he's been, he's a Vol now.

The one where Butch said Tuttle tripped on a helmet and then went on a media tirade was pure gold. :eek:lol:

Plus I think Saban's age is starting to catch up with him, happens to everyone and he is beginning to look tired.

I believe UT and possibly Georgia have caught lightning in a bottle with Pruitt and Smart. We may be seeing start of the shift from the SEC West to the East.

I also agree about Saban, some of that shine is coming off now. His recruiting will be the first sign of the decline.
