Anybody can look good under Nick Saban. Even Lane Kiffin has done well after he bombed at USC.

Another Saban assistant like Dooley, Sunseri, Muschamp, McElwain. Will we ever learn?

Not sure how it will turn out but Smart was a Saban asst. That worked ok for UGA. Pruitt was a darn coach before he joined Saban.

I have no idea how he'll be as a HC, but comparing him to Sunseri? Come on

Fisher, Dantonio, Smart, Gase (NFL), and Garrett (NFL). I'd say they turned out rather well.

Pruitt will give TN respectable defenses finally. If the new coaching staff can recruit I see this as being a very good hire.

Thread title is stupid. Bernie Lomax of Weekend at Bernie's is a decent upgrade from Sunseri.
So is my dog.
And that dirty old guy who hangs out by the Kroger down the street.

You know he was a high school coach before Saban hired him? He’s much closer to being another Sunseri than Saban

Can really evaluate Smart now? It will be interesting next year when all of those seniors move to the next level.

it's not the defense that's bad though. defense played really well, until they were on the field for 3/4 of the game. we need some offense.

You guys have no idea, if he’s slightly better than Sal how the hell did take FSU and win a natty with a dominant D? His issues at UGA were made public, look them up. You put a bad boy in the choir with Mark Richt leading the way and there you have it.

Why did Saban snatch him up almost immediately? Why did Jimbo hire a DB coach to be his D coordinator? This guy is a great coach, head coach material? Who knows at this point but given what we’ve had the past 9yrs I’m willing to take this route and roll with it

I work with a lot of Georgia people. They are hooting and hollering that we just hired a guy who rubs everybody the wrong way like sandpaper. They say his scheme was okay, but his interpersonal skills were garbage.

Funny how life works sometimes. Pruitt wasn’t the target, Probst was and was hired at Bama before his story hit the fans and was untouchable.

For every Jimbo there is a Dooley, more have failed from his tree than have succeeded but that has more to do with the school’s they went to. At Bama, you have everything you need plus some, not the case everywhere.

He did and fractured two coaching staffs. But, that was Jimbo’s and Richt’s fault for letting it happen. As long as he has a Saban to keep him under wraps, he can be successful.
