I dont think its the qoutes, but rather the gushing over them on message boards. Gush all you want but be prepared for varying opinions.

I'm not unhappy with THIS team. I was unhappy with the last one. This is a different team with different coaches. They have given me no reason to dislike them.

That's nice and all, but he lost the recruiting battle this year by a huge margin. Even had recruits making fun of the crap job he was doing by throwing rock hard pizza against the wall on social media.

That's as bad as trying to feed you players your wife's nasty chip dip.

Having endured so many disappointing seasons, gonna go with cautious optimism. Underestimating team 122 could be a mistake that works in our favor.

I don't want to single anyone out, because everyone has a right to their opinion. But if you go back to the beginning of this thread, you will see comments that make it sound as if this is somehow different than what we've seen before. You'll see people praising Pruitt and the coaching staff for making improvements. You see a lot of that here these days.

I'm just saying that I will not buy into meaningless hype and feel good stories that don't really mean anything. I will wait to see the product on the field. And that will tell me whether or not there is any reason for optimism.

That's all.

I understand what you're saying and I hope you're right. I know that no matter what, I will be excited and hopeful the week of the first game.

Right now, all of the optimism I see seems to be based on things that are just a little too familiar.

I'm responding to vfb saying it's me who has a problem with other people's opinions. After admitting he's only here because he can't tolerate other people's gushing opinions.


But to your point, there is no football right now. All we're going to get is coach speak. If some get excited about it and some don't, both is fine with me. My original comment to you was that I believe Pruitt can develop the recruits better than Butch. Recruits was the original topic.

I believe the title of this thread. Pruitt seems like a good hire; however, it also seems like a good time to be optimistic, realistic, and objective.

Does our current roster effectively consist of this one (lots of TN and geographically close hometowns on this roster)...
