Pruitt:"I will go to dadgum China for him if he's a player"

Pruitt has a better recruiting class than many...

Pruitt said he expects to win every game. Some in this fanbase still have this delusion that we are still the powerhouse of the 90's.

I don't want this team to give up a touchdown in the first 4 games.

Look at the recruiting classes.

Recruiting ranking difference between Bama and UT and UT and West Virginia... 15 places.

2018 Football Team Rankings

I don't want this team to give up a touchdown in the first 4 games.

In a relative sense, our defense should look to their players like Alabama's looked to ours.

Are you honestly peddling the idea that Jones has a more impressive, more accomplished coaching pedigree than Pruitt?

It's indisputable. Pruitt has no record as a head coach. So yeah, Butch's record is more impressive. Because Butch actually has a record, whereas Pruitt does not. Again, this is a simple, incontrovertible fact.

And I’d be willing to bet that Pruitt in 2018 as a first year head coach, improves a bit on Jones’ 2017 season, his 11th as a head coach.

That's nice. It's not a very high bar. Butch's teams won 9 games twice. If you were really confident, you might predict that Pruitt will match that in his first year.

Btw, you’re not one of those Butch lovers are you? Only a Butch lover could possibly fire back with that response.

Sounds like you might be up past your bedtime and getting a little cranky.

No, that’s not what you’re doing here and you know it....and so do we.

We? You feel like you're speaking for everyone now? What have I said that was NOT a fact?

Fact is you or nobody else knows how good a coach he will be. Seems you choose to be negative and thats your prerogative, doesnt mean the other side is wrong.

Thank you, yes. No one knows. That is my point. We have zero results thus far. I disagree that saying that is negative, but that's okay. You got the main point right.

Hack my man, let it be brother. We will be back to form in no time at all. You seem eerily worried Pruitt is botch and that is certainly not the case. Your reasons for skepticism are valid but he's coach #26 not #24.

I want to be optimistic, but I refuse to get worked-up about feel good stories that are nothing but hype. The same kinds of articles that were written about Kiffin, Dooley and Butch.

I realize that what I'm saying is probably not popular. I'm not trying to put a damper on anyone else's enthusiasm, but I can see where it might seem that way.

"You win with players, and it's not always the players ranked the highest...We're going to trust our evaluations and trust the connections and relationships we've cultivated over time as a staff."

It's hard not to chuckle while reading these articles. You could make a game using the quotes and try to guess which coach said them. The above quote could have easily come from Butch sometime over the past few seasons. Almost verbatim.

Agreed. Nothing new here that we haven't heard from Kiffin, Dooley or Jones up their arrival at UT. Hopefully, Pruitt can get enough of the top players and develop them better the the guys before or we will will be right back here in a few years.

Back it up with a top 5 class Pruitt. Whiffed on the first NSD.

Agree. Enough talk. Aight, Talk is cheap.
They had 10 top players ID'd and missed on all 10.

And, failed to fill up the schollies.

I don't care where you go, aight, or how hard you work. Butch did all that. I care who you sign, aight. Coaches are paid stupid money, so hard work and effort should be a given. But, if you think you can just roll in here, aight, and sign from the same talent pool as Bama and UGA, you got another thing coming.

That's all I'm saying.

Yeah, but people get all defensive about their heavily gaurded optimism. Its almost as if an opinion actually has an impact on CJP coaching ability or someone effects the other persons opinion.
Despite popular believe, there is really only one type of opinion allowed here.

I got ripped for this after one of his early days pressers. I’m with you though, until I see results on the field, none of this talk matters.

That's cool for both you and VFB.
However, most come here because they're fanatics for TN football. That usually comes with a dose of optimism because that's really the number 1 point of being a fan.

Oh and btw, while you are correct "Pruitt hasn't won a single game", he hasn't lost one either. Not enough college football in a year for me to waste time talking about how it 'might' suck.

How does anyone opinion impact anothers?

And also dont look now but your wasting time talking about it.

Could have come from Saban as well.

Get the very best players out of our state and keep out Clemson, UGA and others.
And, how bout we get 4 or 5 really good ones out of Metro Atlanta like we did in the 90s.
And, how about we rediscover NCarolina and Virginia.

Trips to China might rack up a lot of frequent flyer miles but are not necessary to get what we need.

1. I didn't say anything about anyone's opinion impacting others? In short, as usual, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

2. I was discussing our potential to do well. It's literally like English confuses you.

May be time to get out of Bama for a while.

No other state borders more states than Tennessee (8).
If we hit all those border states plus the fertile outliers plus the home ground pretty hard, that should be adequate.
