Pruitt has hired four staff members (Low)

This staff he's putting together is top notch so far and looks to get better.

I didn't like this hire. Nothing against CJP because he is a monster DC, just had reservations about him as HC...however, I am impressed on his staff so far. With his coaching lineage and background, I expect a top shelf staff. He is well on his way

Helton serving as QB coach, not OC

**This^** I think it's been overlooked that Helton is listed as a QB coach not specifically an OC. Maybe he comes in a passing game coordinator and Friend is running game. I would prefer a full time OC that does both but wtf do I know. So far so good on the hires!

That is just wrong. No need to talk b.s. to pump up the hire. Helton is great. Tee is the oc and Helton works for him. He has input but Tee called the plays and set the gameplans. Tee helped develop Cam Newton, Tahj Boyd, and a bunch of other qbs. He is being discussed as a candidate for the Oregon job.

Happy with Helton but there is a reason Tee was his boss.

This is wrong actually tee called 1st 2nd down and both heltons called 3rd

Sources tell Volquest that Southern Cal's Tyson Helton is expected to take the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach role for the Vols.

Who is wrong here? idk

Helton is. etter than Tee huh? How quickly you throw our national championship QB under the bus for this life long bammer gump.

We went cheap on this hire. Haslam got him off the sale rack. Wash, rinse repeat in three or four years.

We are no longer competing to win championships. We just want to make a bowl game. Florida, Georgia, and Alabama are automatic losses. We hope to play South Carolina and Missouri competitively. If we play sound football, we should have a chance versus Vandy and Kentucky. That's the future sadly. I don't think we will see another championship in the next 20 years until Fulmer dies. He is our albatross, our FatAlbertross.

First, Pruitt will be making over $4 mill. A top 15 or so amount. Second, all of those in the know in football says this a a great hire. Third, how many championships has Tennessee or any other school won in their 100+ years?

There are so many things wrong with everything you just said that it is not worth explaining.

Good so far. I know there are very low expectations for this next year with Pruitt...but realize about 14 months ago we were a stacked team ranked 9th in the country. That's a big fall in such a short time...gotta be some talent still there and incoming to work with.

I bet you’re a hit at parties.

He picked one from Southern Cal, just the wrong one, imo.

I don't want to repeat this too often because Tee was a great Vol.

It is a very real possibility that those on the inside of the coaching profession know more about Tee than fans. It is also a real possibility that he wasn't offered the HC or OC job... because he doesn't have the talent to do those jobs well at UT.

Terry Fair is a good hire, but does suck to lose Charlton Warren. Warren is a top 5 DB coach in the nation. Glad we're keeping Gillespie.

Stop it, you speak the truth, but some want to hire him just because he was a Vol.

97.1 Radio in Pensacola is comparing this to the Dabo Sweeney hire. Raves about it. Sweeney agrees.

Ainge even discussed this on his show yesterday. It was the arrangement last year. He confirmed that this year Tee calls the plays with input from the Heltons. Tee runs the offense and calls the plays though. He siad that everyone that keeps repeating this is wrong. He got confirmation from people connected to USC.

Beside the fact Fair played here, has he proved anything coaching wise? And the rest of these guys are making lateral moves, or in Helton's case, making a step up. First time HC with a first time OC? What could possibly go wrong? Gillespie is a boss though.

Helton has been an oc before and they were pretty great on offense.
