Pruitt gets edgy about recruiting

If the man starts delivering titles to Knoxville he can put on a Butch Jones wig and act just like him for all I care.

Hope there is a higher bar being set than just being the Anti Butch Jones though. Winning games still means a lot more than winning press conferences or public opinion.

Otherwise, his Saban-Lite shtick will wear thin just as quick as Jones did with his used car salesman pitch.

I would have stated that you want the biggest baddest player you can get at every position. There is no other strategy get the best and be the best.

At Behr.
I hope random people just toss gifts at you today.

Heck, let me buy you a beer. Just ask JP for my CC#.

I have a few of them, Behr.

You want his Platinum Visa? Or his Centurion American Express card? He also has a Cracker Barrel $25 gift card. Oh, and the corner of an envelope with a phone number and "Mandy" written on it in purple ink.

Your choice.

So he doesn't like to show his cards. I'm fine with that.

If I were recruiting, I'd show some bleak pictures of Tuskaloosa, Starkville and Gainesville. I'd show "Live PD" outtakes in Columbia, SC. Articles about students and players crapping all over Mizzou campus. lol

Seriously, great Academic University, great city, rivers/lakes, skiing, waterskiing, hunting & fishing, nightlife, Legendary History of Tennessee, General Neyland and that big arse stadium, etc. Short drives to Nashville, Atlanta and Charlotte.

Also, CJP has been preaching a family atmosphere, that is known.

Sure he can, and it seems you can't wait until he does.

With the exception of one or two here, all of us wanted Butch gone before he was. I don't remember Pruitt being mentioned on anyone's list, until we heard he was on Fulmers. I do remember several saying "anyone is better than Butch"

Well, Butch is gone and and no one here got their choice, so forgive me for not having any sympathy for you. Schtick is old.

All that said, I'm liking Pruitt more every day and once again, I'm excited for a new season with a lot of "New" all over the place. Do what you want, obviously you will, but I'm gonna enjoy all of it.
My man....

Nailed it. I expected no less from you. You're solid regardless of the topic.

There’s no similarity whatsoever between JP and Lyle, none. Lyle was a lying, word-parsing, carnival barker who only spoke in platitudes, was never comfortable in his own skin.

None of that remotely describes Pruitt.

This all day!

I barely post a sentence and then you read too much into it. Lighten up Francis.

CJP is correct in keeping his recruiting cards close to his breast. We have programs in the SEC that may not want or need a particular player but recruit that player heavily and win him knowing it is a piece that could help us but knowing he'll likely never start at their school. The scholarship limits have helped that somewhat but it still occurs. Why help them do that?

I have never heard a coach explain, give secrets or any other info about how he recruits.

As far as that goes, have you ever seen or heard a company of any kind give out company secrets?

Can you imagine Coke giving out their recipe?

These type things just don't happen. Companies spend much money and effort protecting their products and how they attain them.

Not trying to be that dude, but weren't we all pissy that Butch wasn't a straight-shooter or honest? So we like that again?

there is a difference

Butch fluffed it up and sold it. All used car. we got talent coming but I can't tell you I have no idea what I am going to do with it. But, but but look at the stars and where we are headed.

Pruitt = no fluff and has nothing to sale but results. We will get there when we get there but I want be satisfied because we can do better.

i don't think that happens nearly as much as you're assuming it does.

and if it is, then i'll show you a coach that won't be employed for very long.
