Pruitt Fired Before the New Year?

Decipher?

Fake ass fake bs. Same with vol colonel and Tony B. Just shooting from the hip for hits. Everyone knows Pruitt is going to get canned on the 31st and they’ll name Freeze on the first to try and steal thunder from the playoffs.

What I was saying was that if we are losing players to schools with better rosters that would be concerning. That would mean we are losing players we don’t want to.

Fair point. I think losing JT will hurt but we will see if HB or KS can be the guy.

How did Auburn and USCjr do? If there were high profile coaches to be had Auburn would have landed one.
It’s rumored the candidates were not given full authority to pick their staff for Auburn. They were turned down by excellent candidates. If we fire Pruitt we already need to negotiate and the best candidate ready to sign beforehand.

Auburn probably thought they had a line on a coach before they pulled the trigger. It’s almost impossible to do a coaching search before firing a coach because it won’t be kept quiet and if it gets out before hand you’ screwed. A coaching search now would be a disaster, Dooley 2.0.

Austin Stanley and Zack Bingham were talking about how difficult it would be to fire Pruitt now. The main reason is the ability for a new HC to hire a new staff. It’s a timing issue. The longer it goes that he isn’t fired the harder it becomes to fire him.

We must hire Coaches with proven Track Records and pay accordingly with an incentive based contracts. Hiring Head coaches who have not performed or coaches who have not been at a head coach position at this level should not be paid like they are. In Business you have a base salary with bonuses for performance. Your base is your base.. where you have demonstrated consistently where you are. Just because you become a coach in the SEC doesn't mean they are your pears.. you have to prove it! I would rather hire someone with smarts and Fire in their belly and pay them bonuses with performance. If you do not perform you get your base or fired if you do not perform by year 3. If you do perform you are rewarded. Hiring coaches for $2-3MM and them never performing at that level is a joke. If we are going to do that there should be established consequences in the Contract for not performing. We should have more pride in our University then giving the farm away and our Tradition away. Pruitt should have been given a 50% bump max over his Alabama salary of $1MM with performance based contract that grows with his accomplishments. Instead he makes $3.8MM! Pruitt should be paying UT to coach here.

Wait, that would actually be something that Tennessee would do. I believe now!!
Whoever writes these contracts for UT should be fired. Let's start having more pride at UT! Taking Asst. coaches and paying them like proven SEC head coaches is a joke. They need to be given a solid base pay with incentives that bring them up in pay. Once they consistently perform so should their base salary. Having no consequences in the contract for poor performance is a gross error in UT's part. I think Pruitt needs more time but with the Burden of his salary he is not worth it. He should not be making more than 50% of his Alabama base of $1MM w a performance contract taking him up to $4MM. Thats reward enough to be given a chance to be a head coach in the SEC and Tennessee! Instead he makes $3.8... 3.8x his Alabama salary with poor performance.

Adams has always been a hater of UT. Even in the 80's and 90's when we were winning. He always would write negative stuff. It's the knoxville media in general, they have always worked against the team more than for it. In Tuscaloosa or anywhere in Bama land the media goes out of their way to protect them. Heck most sec towns have media that at least supports the home team. Knoxville has never had that. Climer,Woody,Adams they were always trying to put the negative slant on anything they could grasp at. It's sad actually. GBO!

Back in the day we had guys named West, Siler, and Byrd that were real journalists. They told the whole story, did not sugar coat anything, but did it with class and dignity. Hate that later generations were robbed of similar opportunities. Adams was the reason I cancelled my News Sentinel subscription. I hated him so bad I once turned around and left a restaurant when as I entered he was the first person I saw.

That’s a great plan as long as you don’t mind hiring another high-risk coach. Any coach with a “proven track record” will be in demand, and as long as another school is willing to offer a better deal, and they will be, you aren’t getting him.

There are fewer good coaches available than there are schools who want them. Until that changes, the nature of the contracts will not.

If you fire a coach after only three year during a massive rebuild no established coach would touch us. No high profile coach is leaving a good situation to come to Tennessee no matter the money. Coaching is an unstable profession as it is, no one is leaving a stable situation and go to a school that irrationally fires coaches, if they did Aurburn would have made a different hire.

Well, looks like we've made ourselves a "Building Block" for coaches on the upswing. That's about it looks like we could get if we did fire Pruitt.

People don’t get it. The law of supply and demand, football is a business but it is a different business. There are a lot more people who could manage a grocery store than can coach an elite college football program.

I don't buy a lot from Tony B but the accounts are no where near comparable. The nugs one will post absolutely anything it finds online or that's sent to it

Dude, Pruitt isn't getting fired. And I thought it was the 30th, now the 31st? What happens on the first when he's still coach, move the date again?
