Pruitt Fired Before the New Year?

"I can warm you upppppp cause I'm your weatherman".....GroundHog Day all over again....hahaha...I'm counting just how many times the same posters can post the same message in the same threads over and over and over again. And it's waaaayyyyy up there!!!

Absolutely not as UT does not have the finances at present to fire any one with the cost required of around $19 million dollars and still paying Butch Jones for another month. The UT Athletic Department like every other college athletic department is in horrible financial shape due to lack of ticket money all caused by the virus. Pruitt is not going to be fired this year period. There will probably be several replacements within the coaching staff and what ever comes out of the investigation of the players receiving some sort of financial assistance which at present is substantially lacking of information and the two coaches that were absent for the Texas A&M game. It may take another 2 to 3 years to get the Vols competitive in the SEC again, but it will happen.
Totally disagree with everything in your post. I think we can become relevant again, but not with Cornbread.
Merry Christmas

On another note.. I made a Christmas Jambalaya. It turned out great! We (as fans) bicker at times but all of us can be unified in wanting Tennessee back on top (our rightful place). Merry Christmas Volnation. Stay safe!

I do not believe Coach Pruitt wont be fired in the next couple of seasons because of things far beyond his control.

Fulmer is planning on bringing Pruitt back, he already stated he would be here for spring practice. So unless Fulmer is replaced in the next week or so, which I don’t see happening, then coach Slingblade will be back.

I dont want Pruitt to go unless Fulmer does too. Sounds like Phil is just as big of a problem as Pruitt is. They need to hire Mark Ingram or David Blackburn and get a proven P5 or NFL coach.
Blackburn is never going to happen.

Ok, his last three seasons he went 9-4, 10-4 and THEN 5-7. Is THIS the culmination of a long, languishing, slow motion descent into irrelevance?
Well, most of this board absolutely hates a guy whose last 3 seasons were 9-4, 9-4, then 4-8 and thinks he's the worst coach we've ever had.

I like how people use the excuse of the pandemic and loss of revenue to justify not making a change. Operational cost cuts were made as well lol. Not to mention tv money and factor in booster incentives. It’s financially feasible.

Specifically which of the big money boosters agree with you? They would have to make up the shortfall as well as the normal acquisition costs. The money still in the bank has to cover operating costs for all sports until revenues return to some extent.

No. You can not fire Pruitt. He won 8 games last year and a bowl game. He received a raise and a contract extension. If you are a true VFL then you need to be patient and support Fulmer,Pruitt, and Chaney. Good things come to those who wait and are patient. GBO
Did anything good come out of giving Butch 5 years?
