Pruitt comments

JG will announce he is entering the portal come
Monday.

I hope not. We may need him if we want to win some winnable games the rest of the season. We will not do well if we have to rely on walk on QBs. My choice is to win some games and not just crucify JG to get my jollies. Pruitt knows that and will say and do what it takes to keep him ready. I hope Maurer comes back, but he may not. Does Shrout or walk ons give us a better chance to win than JG? IDK, but I have my doubts.

What makes you think the team would want him to play at this point? A lot of those guys did their jobs, or at the very least tried to the best of their abilities. It appears that most of the players are building a bond and working together towards a common goal, not one of individual accolades but one of personal sacrifice. I don’t think they are going to put up with JG’s sh$t for much longer.

Absolutely nothing makes me think the players want him to play, I never said they did....

Someone here posted a rumor that the players actually went to Pruitt and asked for a change.

When they're working hard to get open... it has to be frustrating when the QB won't pull the trigger. When they're working hard to run block, it has to be frustrating when the QB makes bad audibles. When they're working hard to pass block, it has to be frustrating when the QB makes bad decisions and holds the ball too long.

Shoot, several of the players were pumping Shrout up after he came in.

Someone posted a clip of that play here. I think it is around page 7 of the "did he change the call" thread. I don't know who called that play... but there was a crease off the left tackled created when Smith got a really good block on the end.
Yeah just read a previous comment where someone mentioned it looked like it should have been a hand-off to Crouch. Makes sense. I didn't get to watch the game, was working but listened to the last half. My apologies to my passenger for my profanity usage when I heard that play. 😂 I'm an uber driver.

How many winnable games has he won for us his year?

Taylor was having a ME moment; And that's just the truth. I'm sure it was out of frustration; and most times it's not called. BUT this IS Bammer; so you have to play really clean; cause we all know the Refs are watching Tennessee For Any penalty call.
There was nothing wrong with Taylor’s actions and he absolutely did not try to show up the Qb. He stayed there watching the play and then got up when the play was over.

It simply doesn't get any better than that in goal line.

JG should never take another snap at UT. I don't know who called the play... but it was a good one. The rest of the team appears to be running it to near perfection.
We all know I was one of JG'S biggest supporters... until this year. He has been in his head, and cant seem to shake it. As much as I dont like putting down players as a fan, from a coaches perspective you cant play someone that is that much of a liability, I agree he shouldn't play again this year.

That wasn't JG. That was Alontae Taylor. They both wear 2. ESPN was so concerned about a tweet of Tua taking an ambulance ride that they couldn't even take the time to make sure they were showing the right player.
Yeah I had a few that night obviously and was wondering when JG grew a moustache!

To me this sounds like Coach is trying to spread the blame and take the high road when JG should take all the blame. But putting it all on him doesn’t help anyone or the program. So he’ll Say things like “we” when it’s 100% “he.”

yeah it’s clearly just one players fault. The other 21? Nah they don’t matter right?

It was there from the start. His problems aren't new this year just much more obvious. He had good receivers last year. The OL was giving him enough time if he were quick getting the ball out like Maurer. He just doesn't seem to have the mental or emotional make up to play QB at this level.

I hate it for him. Some folks here are personalizing it. I truly wish it were different for him.

I agree. I thought that the oline caught a lot of grief create by JG. The oline play was not that good but it was not as bad as advertised.

I think although the boys lost last nite, they grew a lot. I think the staff has the train headed in the right direction. I was encouraged by Sabans comments after the game where he said this was the first game this year they have really had to dig down deep for a game. He knows what lies ahead. Pruitt will be kicking their butts after he gets a couple more classes in here.
