Pruitt comments

Who elected to run the sneak?

I am curious about whether the play was supposed to be handed off to Crouch. I know Coach Pruitt said it was a sneak call.

Question is it no longer legal for a rb to dive over the top say the goal line?

I agree with about half your statement. It may be that JG is a “me first” player going back to his actions the first game of his collegiate career

I'll go further back than that... anybody remember his commitment "production"?

One of the OL, I think it was Kennedy, tweeted that they broke the huddle with a play called, and when the ball got snapped, he doesnt know what happened. That's indirectly confirming that JG went rogue, that together with Trey Pulling on the play.

Pruitt elected not to throw JG under the bus. That's what a good coach does, to continue to win over the Locker room and not lose guys. Although, I do think JGs playing days in orange are over, at least I hope they are.

This team has shown noticeable improvement. I think next year we are going to be pretty darn good. I’ve completely changed my mind on Pruitt. He’s still learning, but he is going to be a darn good coach.
I think you’re right, but as you know, unfortunately people want immediate results

Taylor's penalty was really borderline. I think he laid on the qb a tad too long and when he pushed, it was flagged. Not just the push, but the combination of the two. Whatever... that point in the game killed the momentum. JG didn't help.

Go back and look at one of our kickoff returns not too long after that call and watch one of their guys crawl across the returners head with his knees way after the whistle.... far greater chance of injury than the one they called on us.

I had zero issue with the mask handling by Pruitt. I don’t even classify it as a grab.
That was almost as offensive as Taylor getting up, off of Matt Jones. Which was complete and utter home-cooking BS.

I loved his comments tonight. Pruitt is 100% the man for this job. This year may be rough, but I am enjoying watching this team grow more than any team I've seen in a decade.

Agreed. This Team (penalties excluded) has really improved !

I think our guys learned a lot about themselves tonight. I couldn't be happier with their effort.
We had a chance going into the 4th quarter & we didn’t take advantage of our opportunities
We played better this week than last week. There’s no quit in this team

From his comments the sneak was a called play, but he didn't want JG going over the top.
I’m still out on this. Trey pulls, fullback smashes in to block and we had CROUCH for a walk in. I can’t imagine you bring in a “beast” package for a linebacker and not hand it off. Crouch looks very confused once it’s snapped and then tries to chase down the Bama player. Such a bad luck fumble the vols are unfortunately used to seeing.

I am tired of beating up JG. He isnt worth my time. This is a results , bottom line business and he just cant get the job done. Let the younger guys play, JG has earned his time on the bench. The boy is a head case and I feel very sorry for him. I am sure he wants to win as much as anyone .
JG played better last year than now. Definitely
regressed. There is more going on with him
than just football. He is not with the program

The blocking went to JG's left, Trey Smith drove him man into the endzone, for what it is worth.
73 and 74 opened a hole.
Trevon Diggs ices game with 100-yard fumble return TD

Guys, that this bama-written article says "ices game" on that play, says a lot about how far this 2019 Team/Staff have come along ! Some big mistakes, but much improved.

Many were calling for this game to be out of reach by the 1st qtr.

You can certainly read between the lines on this one. Said just enough to get his real thoughts out, but stopped short of having the league fine him and the refs go even more anti-vol in the coming games. Just hope to hell we don't see this crew again.

Well, he obviously saw the late "push" that led to Maurer being injured and thought that was just part of the game. No harm no foul or at least that's the way the officials seem to view it.

Fuggedabout it, the SEC ensures we see Hubert wearing stripes in at least 1 of our games with UGA, UF, or Bama every year, sometimes 2 of them.

So, this is Maurer's second concussion. Not good.
If Maurer can't go or gets hurt again, need to put Shrout in and let him play...If Shrout doesn't show improvment by 2nd game as starter, We need to put Jennings in and go wildcat until Maurer gets healthy..Guarantano needs to stay on bench or transfer!!!
