Jeremy Pruitt: "He asked me to move to linebacker in the 4th quarter of the Georgia game. I just told him I didn’t think now is the time to talk about it."

Hell, I wanted to play MLB after watching 1, 2, AND 3 touchdowns given up by the same linebacker in that game. Depressing 4 sure!!

This is the kind of guy Coach is looking for and referenced about last week. The dude is a FOOTBALL PLAYER and wants to freaking hit someone!

Go Vols!

I like the attitude of Banks. Get him in the game. We need more players like him. Interesting that Banks noted the same LB gave up 3 touchdowns! Get him some experience and he will be a leader on the field too.

too bad there is only a handful of players like Banks on this team. This kid will be one of the all time favorites before its all said and done. I still remember watching the video of the day he got his cleats and ran with them to his locker to put them on.

I love the guy....and if he has trouble hanging onto the football...perhaps putting him on defense is a good idea. We can use some "headhunters" on that side. Young men who "play mean" and just want to hit somebody every time the ball is snapped. A player like this is too valuable of a resource to be standing on the sidelines.

One consequence of the reduced scholarship limits is that coaches have to be more 'efficient' in recruiting. You can't just load up on a bunch of top recruits and see which ones pan out.

I think what we're seeing with Pruitt is that he's specifically looking for players with a certain type of mentality / attitude. You can see it in Banks. Dude just wants to play and win.

Maybe, if he moves and excels, he will be a motivating factor for the team. Nothing fires a team up more than a fast, aggressive hit on the opponent's QB.

"Just put me in anywhere coach!"

Jeremy Banks

Love this guy..

Food for thought: Wouldn't it be strange if Banks made more of an impact at LB this year than JJP..

While I know we need good LB's, I will miss his punishing running style on offense. He's really fun to watch and I think the fumbles can be coached out of him.

well, apparently it 's going to happen...Jeremy to LB and Fils-aime back to RB, according to RTT...see how it works out...

GO VOLS...BEAT GAMECOCKS!

Not a terrible trade off there. Fils-aime was running pretty hard the last we saw him at RB. If S&C/ nutrition can add some size he could be pretty daunting, with this coaching staff.

This is the kind of stuff that lends some hope for the future...young players stepping up as leaders and taking initiative. That, and having players who want nothing more than, to paraphrase Conan the Barbarian, 'crush our enemies, see them driven before the front seven, and hear the lamentations of opposing fanbases'.
