I understand the Pruitt hire, and I am cautiously optimistic based upon:

- His defensive coaching resume
- His recruiting resume
- The rumors of staff he will bring along

My questions are as follows:

With the early signing period, is Fulmer going to basically be Pruitt’s recruiter and go on the road? Is the old staff going to stay on and pitch the new guy who will not likely retain most of them? Does Pruitt actively recruit against AL, possibly even some currently committed players, while coaching them in the bowl game(s)?

While the hire seems to have potential, it seems to me that allowing him to remain on for the post season makes this whole thing incredibly convoluted and seems to be to our extreme disadvantage for the early signing period.

Thoughts?

It’s doable.

I imagine what will happen is he will hit the ground running with Tennessee. I don’t think the first practice for Alabam is until after early signing day but someone correct me if I’m wrong. So if I’m right there, then he’ll be all Vol recruiting until then.

I imagine he’ll go to some practices but I can’t imagjne he can go to all of them. But Bama does have some good assistants who I’m sure will take up those reigns.

Once Bama is out of the playoffs, he can burn his crimson and start making a larg collection of orange gear. Can’t come soon enough.

I think they said on radio after next weekend we hit a dead period and he could get everything he needs to do done on the phone.

Edit
Found it

@SwainEvent please let people know there is a dead period for recruiting between Dec 18- Jan 11th per NCAA web site. Pruitt doesn't have to be back for coaching until the 15th

Good info on the practice periods, thanks! Just seems very conflict of interesty from a recruiting standpoint.

I'm sure Fulmer will assist with recruiting. Pruitt will be used for introductions, etc. He also is likely to have at least some of the staff selected "soon." Current coaches are still on the payroll and I expect they don't want to burn bridges.
