I understand the Pruitt hire, and I am cautiously optimistic based upon:
- His defensive coaching resume
- His recruiting resume
- The rumors of staff he will bring along
My questions are as follows:
With the early signing period, is Fulmer going to basically be Pruitts recruiter and go on the road? Is the old staff going to stay on and pitch the new guy who will not likely retain most of them? Does Pruitt actively recruit against AL, possibly even some currently committed players, while coaching them in the bowl game(s)?
While the hire seems to have potential, it seems to me that allowing him to remain on for the post season makes this whole thing incredibly convoluted and seems to be to our extreme disadvantage for the early signing period.
Thoughts?
