Pruitt about to land an epic recruiting class...

And Georgia beat us 41-0 last year AT HOME. It was a 12 pt game in the 4th qtr this year at Georgia. The 2017 team would have gotten boat raced at Auburn this year. We're not close to where any of us want us to be but we're better than we were last year.

Amazing how some can’t understand this.

Has a bunch of guys that want to play together for Pruitt and his staff

These guys apparently like each other and love some Rocky Top !
Looking at Rivals and the verbal commits we have I am confident we are headed in the right direction. I think there was a Butch Jones class that had like one OL over 3 starts on it, but our ranking was improved by getting 4/5* athletes. Pru's class looks solid on the line front. I am excited for the future.

he better...he sure isn't coaching up what he has

I can teach someone how to swing a golf club correctly.

If they still can’t hit the ball then that’s on the person who’s swinging the club.

You are what you recruit.

So what constitutes an epic class? I wòuld say top 3. I highly doubt we get that high. Too many lower ranked guys. I do feel the class will be solid.
If we finish solid this year we get a top 15 class. If we had run the table it was possible we finish top 10 easy. A 4-8 record again won’t reap many recruits in Feb...and should we stumble again next year this team is in trouble..

You're making a final judgement on a coach 8 games into his head coaching career? Oh look another one... Chump

He’s shown some encouraging signs but he sure hasn’t shown much. 8 games in and we still have way too many mental errors. Mental errors are not talent related.

I know we have to recruit some elite talent to be competitive in the SEC, so I understand Pruitt’s comments, but I think Pruitt also needs to keep the current team together and finish with some momentum. If he loses the team now and we have a terrible finish to the season, I’m afraid our recruiting class will suffer.
Suffering to get worse...Pruitt have up this year

If CJP turns his focus to recruiting blue chip O-line and D-linemen things will change. The postion changes that he has made and the way that he has built the offense around the skill sets of his players says that he is doing more for our team than the last three coaches. I am bought in, and I think he is taking our team places. Give him an off season and see how we come out. If we still start slow and have issues with talent maybe there is a problem. But I think that he is on the right path and needs the time to prove it. There will be some NegaVols that are ready to put his head on a pike, but I believe in him.

So the players that are his - basically true freshmen - show errors... Hmm could it be from lack of experience and age? Duh!

In regards to the other players that are holdovers - could it be that the last regime were a bunch of inadequate coaches that had no idea what they are doing and the new system requires 10000% buy in from every player and that buy in isn't happening?

I mean geez people. The holdovers are snakebit and victims of a horrible coach. Can't blame them for that. Can't help it that they aren't very good either to compete and play in Pruitt's system.

But for the record, you are basically admitting you are passing a final judgement on Pruitt after 8 games into his head coaching career. Lovely

Dude, stop the Butch blaming. Yes he sucked but 8 games in we shouldn’t have near the false starts, lined up wrong and missed assignments that we do. It doesn’t take years or new players for a good coach to fix that.

Remember most of the current roster had other D1 and even SEC offers, it’s not like they just started playing football.

And your D1 coaching background includes what positions and schools?

I just hope he can hold it together, so far this team is no better than last year, there are 4 games left that can change that. If I'm a recruit, and I don't see improvement, I have to think hard about coming. The only thing that makes me feel good about having a struggling coach is CPF to show him the way.
Well I'm glad they don't think like you.. What a loser mentality, should have known better than clicking on this thread..

Are you 12? What’s with the coach worship?

I’ve coached enough at the rec and middle school level to know that it doesn’t take years to fix reoccurring mental mistakes.

You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Please tell me how many legit SEC Players we have on Defense? I’ll listen.

I don’t have their offer lists handy so why don’t you tell me?

Mental errors are not talent related it’s coaching.

Exactly. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out we’re slow on defense and can’t tackle.

Probably why Pruitt keeps mentioning over & over again that he wants bigger & faster players on both sides of the ball.

So your rec league and middle school playbooks and programs are as intense as a D1 college football playbook and program?

Ray Charles could see improvement from last year.
